A fun day fishing

Grammy and Grampy wanted to take Cameron fishing to a cute place in Kamas where they stock the fish in these little ponds.  So you are guaranteed to catch something.  It's great for little kids and people who want to fish but not spend 8 hours on the lake and not even catch anything.  They felt bad that he didn't catch anything a few weekends ago when everyone went camping/fishing.  Cameron was super excited and said he was going to catch 100 fish.  He could have too, but since you have to pay $5-$8 a fish we set a limit at 3 fish.

Grampy tried to show Cameron how to use the new fishing pole he bought him.  But he didn't really get it figured out, instead he just pulled the pole up as high as he could to get the fish out of the water.

Sooo excited to try out his brand new "real" fishing pole!

Yay, he caught his second fish!!

Kenzie kept wanting to peek into the bucket and see the fish, but she didn't want to get too close.  It was funny to watch her get so excited about the fish, but also be a little worried.

Grammy and Mackenzie watching the boys fish.

Good thing Cameron was able to catch 3 fish super fast because it started to rain.  We headed to Heber to eat at Dairy Keen....a yummy burger and shake place that has a cute electric train running all around train tracks on the wall.  It's always packed but we got a great table and the kids had a blast.  Thanks grammy and grampy for making memories!!

Mt. Timpanogos hike

We hiked Mt. Timpanogos and did a tour of the caves.  It was a great day to hike, the weather was perfect....it sprinkled a little bit but that was nice because it kept it cool.  The hike was pretty steep and long, but Cameron was a trooper.  He did a great job hiking and didn't complain once about being tired or it being too hard.  Mackenzie got a free ride on daddy's shoulders or I held her most of the way.  She wanted to walk and did good for short amounts of time.  If we had all day we could have let her walk at her own pace.  There were railing on some parts of the hike, but not all of it.  There were some serious drop offs and dangerous parts that were a little scary to have a little kid running around.

The view was awesome!

The cave was amazing....the tour guide said its one of only five caves in the world that has that many stalagtites.

The cave was pretty cold and dark.  Cameron thought it was cool to wear his head lamp and  we were glad we brought sweatshirts!  There were a lot of tight spaces and parts we had to duck under, some slippery parts and Mackenzie had one fall.  Other than that we made it safe and sound.  I can't wait to do it again, the kids thought it was fun!

Boys camping trip

Grampy, Jeremy, Spencer, Troy and Cameron went on their annual fishing trip.  This year they went up Friday and camped over night.

The exciting news was they caught 3 fish.....that's 3 more than last year!!  The bad news was Cameron's fishing pole broke and then Grampy shut Troy and Spencer's fishing poles in the car door when they were packing up to go home.  The good news is Grampy bought everyone new fishing poles.

Cameron loves to camp.  He had fun eating the tinfoil dinners and making smores too.

Cute Grampy

All worn out.  Can't wait for next year!!

Bike parade

Cameron and Mackenzie ready for the annual neighborhood bike parade and breakfast.  Cameron was excited to help decorate his bike.  This year I reminded him it wasn't a race (the year before he came from the back of the pack to the front and "won").  This year he hung back and rode so slow he almost wasn't able to balance....lol

Mackenzie LOVED the horses, the bounce house, fishing for candy, and the electric swing ride!  What a fun Saturday morning spent with friends and neighbors.

4th of July

The 4th of July started off with breakfast at IHOP with Grammy and Grampy and then off to Last Chance Lakes for fun in the sun.  Cameron had a BLAST and waterskied for his first time.  He was so excited about that and can't wait to do it again.

We couldn't get the kids out of the pool.  Cameron is doing awesome swimming and had fun with Troy doing flips off the diving board (another first for him).  Then he got brave and decided to jump off the boat dock roof with all the kids and Jeremy.  It's a long jump to the water, but he did it several times.

Mackenzie cracks me up.  She just loves the water and is happy if she is in her swimming suit.  She does her own thing most of the time, with a mind of her own!

We had two worn out kids!  Both of them crashed soon after we got in the car to head home.  We got home in time to change and head off to the neighborhood BBQ and fireworks get together.  We put Mackenzie to bed before the fireworks, but Cameron was right there to enjoy all the fun.  He was excited to do the fireworks that he helped Jeremy pick out.

What a fun day it was.  We are thankful for our freedom and for the reason we celebrate the 4th of July in the first place!

Mallory's baptism

Cute Mallory and her BFF got baptized on Saturday at Last Chance Lakes.  What a fitting place to be baptized in, your own private lake that your dad built :)  She will never forget this day!

It was really a neat experience to watch a baptism somewhere other than the baptismal font.  It seemed a little more "authentic" like Jesus being baptized in a river.

Not the best picture because the room had so many windows (too see the lake of course), but everyone was listening to the talks before going out to watch the baptism.

Cameron loves his cousin Troy, they have fun together....

A great picture of Grammy and Grampy

I made this cupcake/cake dress dessert, it was a big hit :)

After lunch it was fun in the sun time.  It was the hottest day of the year, record breaking 105 degrees so everyone was anxious to get in their swimsuits and get in the water.

a giant, disgusting snake that Jason put to death

Cameron had a blast playing on the beach and in the lake.  What a great day!
