Mackenzie has a mind of her own! She didn't want to wait until September 8th to be born (the date we scheduled the c-section). So she decided she liked September 4th better. So I went into labor September 3rd coming home from Park City. We had gone up there Saturday to spend the day for Labor Day because daddy had to work on Labor Day. As we were driving home around 8:30 I started having contractions. They continued for several hours so we got on the internet to find out about contractions and how you know when you are in labor. I never learned this and didn't think I needed to listen to what they tell you about counting and how far apart they are etc since I was having a c-section. Most of the things people said online were similar "you aren't in real labor until they are 5 minutes apart" and "if you can talk or walk during the contraction then it isn't real labor" etc. Finally at 1 am I had Jeremy call the hospital to ask their opinion. I didn't want to get someone to come over and watch Cameron in the middle of the night and be that girl that goes to the hospital and gets sent home. The on-call Dr. said to take a walk and if the contractions get worse then to come in. Well the walk around my neighborhood at 1 am didn't make them worse so I decided to go to bed. I timed my contractions ALL NIGHT and they were consistent and horribly painful but they were still 10 minute apart. finally at 5:00 Jeremy went and slept on the couch since he couldn't get any sleep with me screaming into my pillow and grabbing the sheets (I was trying to be as quiet as I could be.) Finally at 6 am I figured since I wasn't getting any sleep I would get in the shower. The contractions got worse and closer together. from 6-8 am they were 5 minutes apart. I tried to let Jeremy and Cameron sleep as long as I could, but it was TIME to go to the hospital. I woke Jeremy up and called My sister Michele to come watch Cameron while we went to the hospital. The drive there was the worst! I could barely sit down, and the pains were worse then ever...Jeremy ran a few red lights and we made it there. Good thing it was a Sunday and the traffic was minimal. When we walked in everyone said "are you the one that call last night? The Dr. wondered what happened to you." So they took me back and checked me. The Dr. said I was dilated to a 4 and totally thinned out saying "this baby could come any minute, you should have come in last night...you were in labor for 12 hours!" So they rushed the process and took me back to cut me open! So the worst part of the story isn't that I suffered 12 hours of pain for NOTHING, but the fact that MY DR. was out of town for Labor Day and I had to have the on call Dr. deliver Mackenzie!

What an amazing experience it is to have a baby and see them for the first time. It is such an exciting thing, not knowing what they are going to look like. I had no idea what to expect, but when I saw all her hair I was soooo happy!

She made one little cry when they first took her out. The Dr. tried to cut the cord and said, "wow she is a feisty one, she is boxing me out and wont let me cut the cord." With as active as she was in my tummy I knew she would be a mover. She didn't cry or make any noise at all then they were cleaning her up and sucking out her nose etc. The nurses and Dr. all commented on how they have never had a baby that didn't cry at all.

Grammy and Grampy rushed to the hospital when we called and told them we were on our way. They didn't want to miss anything. It was nice to have them there before and after the surgery. I always appreciate their support and help.....which they are more than willing to give and do anything!

I didn't get to watch Mackenzie's first bath, but Jeremy and my mom got to watch. And she didn't cry or even care. I remember Cameron cried through the whole bath!

Margo and her family came to visit us. Lindsie, Mallory and Troy couldn't wait to see their new cousin. Troy even postponed his birthday party 2 hours just so they could drive to the hospital and see us. Since it was an unexpected delivery they had already had Troy's bday planned. That meant a lot that they came that day! See that camera on Mallory's head? Well, I didn't and about 15 minutes after they had been there and I was telling the story of what happened Mallory told me she was filming me!! Just as long as she doesn't put it on U-TUBE or something I wont make her destroy the tape :)

about a week before we had Mackenzie my mom's cousin sent a package for Cameron and Mackenzie. He loves getting mail and packages so he was excited to open it. What I love about Cameron is he gets so excited over everything! What kid would get excited over a shirt?? I told him the shirt said "I'm the BIG brother" and he repeated it and then wouldn't put it down for hours! A friend came over and he had to show her his shirt and tell her what it said. She sent a onesie for Mackenzie that said I love my brother. Cameron was just as excited about that shirt as his. He carried that around and had to show everyone for the next week both their shirts. I told him he could wear it to the hospital and he could't wait. So that morning when I was getting him dressed and told him we were going to the hospital and he got to put on his big brother shirt he jumped up and down shouting horray! Then he had to run into Mackenzie's room and get her shirt. When Michele came to watch him he told her about their shirts and later when they brought him to the hospital he HAD to bring the shirt for Mackenzie too and gave it to her. Such a cute BIG brother!!! What a cute gift too....thanks Sandy....you couldn't have sent a better gift :)

Every day when Cameron came to the hospital the first thing he wanted to do was hold "baby Kenzie" and then he loved going to the snack room and getting a drink and cookies or a Popsicle. The other thing he liked was his little sister gave him a present every day he came and then he gave her a present. By the third day he came in climbed up on the bed and looked at Mackenzie and said "where's my present?" Grammy and Grampy slept at our house that night with Cameron and brought him back to the hospital the next morning.

Michele and the fam dam brought Cameron to the hospital the first day. He knew where he was because he had gone to a couple Dr. visits with me.

Janessa and Spencer took turns holding their new cousin.

The cutest thing was when I looked over and saw Cameron up on the bench (where Jeremy slept) under the blanket while Grampy read the book Mackenzie gave him that day.

He loves the book and has wanted to read it every night since then. It talks about being a big brother and having a new baby sister. He likes to point to the pictures of the kids and say that it's Cameron and Mackenzie.

cute picture of daddy and Kenzie. She is soooo tiny. Weighing 6 lbs and 2 oz and 19 inches long. Her weight dropped to 5 lbs 8 oz when we left the hospital. So we had to go to the pediatrician the day after we left the hospital and also the normal 2 week check up. She had gained a few oz. when we went to the pediatrician the next day, so she wasn't too worried about the weight. She didn't have jaundice and there were no other concerns besides her weight.

We all think she looks a lot like Cameron. My mom and dad say she looks just like my baby pictures (except I didn't have hair).

Proud grandparents

The hospital did the special dinner like they did when we had Cameron. It's a nice thing they do, and its a fun way to celebrate!

Michele came the next day to visit and brought us lunch!! YUMMY Cafe Rio.

Such a sweet picture of Cameron kissing baby sis. I didn't even tell him to do that!!

He got pretty protective of her and didn't want anyone else to hold her. He kept saying "NO Cameron hold Kenzie."

She had her eyes open and looking around the very first day.

Yay, we get to get dressed and go home! Her coming home outfit was a newborn outfit, but the pants were still too big. Guess I should have bought a premie!

Big brother was there and involved in everything. He is so proud of his little sis and has been SO CUTE with her!

The second day when grammy and grampy came with Cameron they had stopped to get a bunch of balloons to bring, but when they got to the hospital they wouldn't let them bring in any of the latex ones. So the only one they got to bring in was the one my mom is holding. Cameron was so excited to bring me the balloons too. I had a few friends that came to visit and bring me flowers and yummy treats. It was nice to have visitors, it gets quite boring sitting in a hospital for 3 days! We got a cart to carry everything to the car and Cameron wanted to ride in the cart, so he climbed in. My mom came to help that day at the hospital and came home with us while we got all set up.

I came home to more balloons and a beautiful yard!! My parents slept over Sunday night and my dad spent all day Monday working in our yard and putting down soil prep/bark landscaping stuff all around our flower beds, it looked soooo nice! Thanks a million for all you guys did and are doing to help :)
Now we have to get back into the baby mode and function on 2 hours of sleep! I am loving having a new addition to the family, it feels like more of a family to me now that we have 2! Cameron needed a sibling :)
