School time

Cameron started his second year of preschool.  He goes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-11:30 now.  He was soooo excited to pick out a backpack and wanted to fill it with all sorts of toys and stuff to take to school.  It was full of random stuff :)  Of course on the way to school he said, "I wonder what color of shirt Mrs. LaDawn will be wearing today"

Walking into school, I got this picture only because he ran so fast to get inside I couldn't catch up :)

Cameron hung up his backpack "next to another McQueen backpack!!"

This was when I picked him up after his first day.  He was so excited and couldn't stop talking about learning letter "M" and they got M&Ms for a treat.  This is the biggest, happiest, most excited smile ever!  One of my favorite things about Cameron is how excited he gets about EVERYTHING.  He loves life and loves to learn and do new things.

She's walking!!

Kenzie has been taking about 4 steps at a time the last few weeks but then plops down and hasn't really consistently tried.  She cruises around the house pushing her train but hasn't been walking much on her own.  Until.....tonight.....at Cameron's baseball practice.....I wasn't expecting her to start walking on the uneven surface of the grass but decided to film anyway.  So glad I did!

She is ready to play.  Kenzie wouldn't sit on the blanket and play with her toys, she wanted to play with Cameron's bat and equipment of course :)

Baseball time

Tonight was Cameron's first Baseball practice.  We thought it was "T" ball, but apparently the coach pitches to them.  Cameron has been practicing hitting the ball of of his T, but we never thought to try pitching it to him.  They broke the kids up into little groups of 3 and started practicing.  I decided to video a little bit, not knowing what to expect....but he seemed to catch on :) Cameron was so excited he got a new bat, glove, and ball.

On the way over to practice Cameron said, "I am so excited".  He loves to try new things and has fun doing anything.  I love this action shot and his face when he is about to catch the ball.

Swim lessons

I signed Cameron up for swimming lessons and was a little worried that he wasn't going to like it.  He never likes to get in the pool or play in the water, unless it's his bath tub or a really shallow area that he can just stand in.  It was cheaper to split the lesson time between 2 kids so my friend signed her boy up also.  Jayden and Cameron are friends and Jayden goes swimming all the time at his grandmas.  So I figured Cameron might see Jayden in the water and not be so scared.  Well, Cameron never ceases to amaze or surprise me!!  It was the total opposite (as you can hear in this video) Jayden cried and hated every minute of it, even sitting on the stairs, and Cameron put his game face on and you would have never known he had never been in the water before!!

He was pretty happy and proud of himself.  He is such a funny kid.  He just kept saying "hey Linda" to his teacher and would tell her all kinds of stuff.  He really loves to learn and I watched him listen intently to Linda and did everything she told him to do.  He even stayed after his lessons to listen and watch her teach the next kid.  I couldn't get him out of there...he was so focused on it.

The practiced blowing bubbles and putting their whole face in the water, kicking their feet, and floating on their backs.  He was really brave to do this for the first time ever.  She got him relaxed and then let go of him to float on his own for 10 seconds.  I am so proud of this kid.  I get excited to watch him conquer everything he tries to do!

Such a proud moment!

I am beginning to wonder where this kid came from....seriously!  Jeremy decided to start the process of teaching Cameron how to ride his bike without training wheels tonight.  He assumed it would take several days, frustration on both their parts, maybe even some crying....?  Well, it was the total opposite!!  Jeremy took off the training wheels and Cameron got on the bike.....end of story!  He took off and didn't want to stop.  He can start himself without anyone holding onto him or pushing him.  I can't believe how fast he picked that up, there was no effort at all.  I am so proud of my little boy who is growing up so fast!

Kenzie went fishing too....

She went fishing in the pantry!

I saw her crawl in there so I opened the door just in time to see her grab the bag of fish crackers off the shelf.  Apparently they were open....  I love the sequence of pictures.  She is dumping them out....

....grabbing a handful....

making sure she has crackers in the right hand...

....enjoys her snack.  She had just woke up from her nap and I was making her bottle when she crawled in the pantry.  I guess she wanted a little appetizer.  She has both her bottom teeth now and one top tooth just came in so she enjoys eating crackers more now.  She is 11 months old already!!

Fishing with Grampy

Cameron was looking forward to going fishing with Grampy and his boy cousins ever since last year when they went.  I couldn't believe he even remembered it, but he would always bring it up when we were close to the mountains and say, "that's where we went fishing....I want to go again"  He would randomly tell me what shoes he was going to wear when he went fishing again and was so excited when we gave him a fishing pole for his birthday.  He couldn't wait to actually use it instead of just pretend and hold it.

Spencer and Troy slept over Friday night.  Cameron was in heaven.  He had so much fun with them and they stayed up way too late.

I had to sneek a ccute sleeping picture.   They slept in their sleeping bags downstairs and fell asleep on the couch after watching a movie.

I made waffles for breakfast and sent them on their way for a fun day of fishing.

Too bad they didn't catch any fish.  Better luck next year boys.

Bathtub musical

Cameron's life is a musical.  This kid loves to sing....just like his grampy!  He was singing his little heart out in the bath tonight.  I was taping most of it with the video camera and then caught a little bit with my camera so I could post it.  I stood in the hall around the corner so he wouldn't see me and stop singing.  The best thing is he sings real song, but he also just sings anything.  I call it sing talking :)

Nature vs. Nurture

I am going to go with Nurture on this one!   Jeremy was concerned that Cameron was playing with Mackenzie's Barbie that she got out of the Grammy drawer the other day.  But I am pretty sure he doesn't have to worry about that anymore!  I think we need to be more concerned about How he is playing with her Barbie and possibly his violent tendencies :) LOL How in the world a 3 year old already knows girl toys and boy toys amazes me.  We were in Target the other day looking at toys and he would look at the isle and say "I don't want to go down that one, it's a girl isle".
