Cameron's Christmas program

Cameron's school had a Kindergarten program for Grandparents' Day. (I am not sure why they called it that and not just a Christmas program??)  Anyway, Cameron was SO CUTE in the program!  I am pretty sure I didn't stop smiling during the whole thing!  He sang his heart out.  This is my favorite picture ever.  Look at how happy he looks and how he is doing the actions and singing....!  This was his favorite song too.  It was something about Christmas in Hawaii and Santa doing the hula.

Cameron was proud to have Grammy and Grampy there to watch him.  After they had milk and cookies for everyone.

His excitement was so cute!!

Then we got to go to his classroom and the kids could read or draw or do what they wanted with their grandparents.  Cameron asked Grampy to read him a book.  It was a great day and one he will always remember :)

So grown up!

On Wednesdays Mackenzie and I go help in Cameron's Kindergarten class.  Usually Mackenzie plays with the kitchen set and the dolls while I help the kids with their math, spelling, and art they do at their rotation tables.  Today was so cute.  She wanted to do the math too.  So she got a paper and sat down and started writing on it.  She kept telling me she was doing her math.  And then she wanted to write her name and letters.  She is growing up too fast!

Then we came home and played a mean game of "guess who".  She wanted to sit on the stairs.  I couldn't resist taking a few pictures while we were playing.  I was laughing so hard at how she was sitting.  She is a crack up.  She is pretty girly, but also tough and active!  Such a good mix :)  I love playing games with her, she is at the best age right now!!!

Awwww

I love this picture!  Mackenzie loves her daddy.  I walked in the room and this is how I found them.  Jeremy is always on his computer in bed, but it was so cute to see her snuggled up next to him with my iPad playing a game!

Crazy weather and crazy kids

So this is December 5th....the snow pictures I posted were November 23rd....we haven't had a snow storm since then.  In fact, we have had some crazy warm weather.  Like 60's!    The kids have been enjoying it :)

They love to do tricks on the swings.  Cameron has fun swinging and jumping out onto the grass.  He is super good at swinging himself.  He starts on his own and pumps all by himself.   Mackenzie is so funny, she copies everything Cameron says and does!  Hopefully he continues to be a good example!!  However, she is fearless and will do whatever he does....I am afraid for future hospital visits.

First winter snow

The kids were super excited for the first snow of the season to stick in the valley.  It has been an unusually warm winter this year.  This was the first and last snow storm we have had.  And it wasn't even a big one!  The kids enjoyed it though.

Jumping on the trampoline was a little more difficult they found out.

They sure are cute all bundled up!

Rock band

My kids love music.  They love to dance and sing!  We made a "rock band" and sang and danced our hearts out all morning!  So much fun :)

Decorating cookies

We decorated sugar cookies to be festive for Thanksgiving.  The plan was to decorate them like turkeys, but with all the candy Kenzie put on hers you couldn't even tell there was a cookie under it!! Cameron did a cute smily face.  I took my turkey cookies to my visiting teaching people :)

Book Fair

Cameron was super excited for his first book fair.  We went through all the Scholastic paper order forms that have been sent home the last few months.  He circled all the things he wanted.  We went early before school started and shopped.  I told him he needed to bring his own money and that I would pay for some, but he also had to pay for some....basically just matching the money he wanted to spend.  He had the hardest time deciding on a book!  After he picked his book, we went to the lunch room for "books and buddies" (I had no idea what that was), but we walked in, got a doughnut and chocolate milk and enjoyed talking to each other.  They gave us a raffle ticket when we walked in and they drew out Cameron's ticket!!  He got to go pick a book from the table.  He chose the book you see on the table.  Super fun morning.

After school Cameron wanted to take Mojo up to his "spot" and read to him...and nap :)  He put his blankets and pillow up there.  He is such a funny kid!

Gettysburg Address

Cameron learned the Gettysburg address in school.  He has it memorized and it so cute to hear him say it.  He is so animated when he says it too.  I am sad I don't have a better video of him saying it because he says it perfect and then every time I video him something happens....one time Mackenzie was on the couch and kept jumping on him.  He had said if perfect, but she had just got out of the bath she was naked :)  So we deleted that one.  Then this second video I posted was going great, until my battery died and stopped recording in the middle!!!  GRRR.  If I can get another video of him saying the whole thing I will post it.  He thought it was pretty cool because yesterday was the day Abraham Lincoln said the Gettysburg Address so as a class they all said it.

Cute kids!

Mackenzie is at the cutest age right now.  She is so fun to play with. Mackenzie loves to play babies and read to them.  We were playing in her room one morning and she got her "babies" all covered up and started to read them a story.  She is so dramatic when she reads and she tells stories with such enthusiasm.  She takes after her namesake...her great-grandma Ora.

Then there is Cameron.  He is such a creative kid.  He loves to draw and make things.  Apparently he decided he could start charging for his pictures.  Ha ha!!

This is one of my favorite pictures he has drawn.  It's batman trapping a bad guy.  He made a book when he slept over at Grammy and Grampy's house the other night.  He drew pictures and grammy stapled them in a book and then she wrote on each page what he said about them, making a story.  He loves that book and in fact, it's the book he chooses to read every night before bed.

Pets

A boy and his dog.  I finally gave in and decided to let Tica on the couch.  I still don't love the idea, but I am sick of fighting a losing battle.  Grampy and Michele spoil her and she was getting confused when she could be on the couch and when she couldn't be.  LOL  Anyway, she might not be around much longer.  She is OLD...13 years to be exact.  It will be a sad day for Cameron and Mackenzie when Tica leaves us.  So, until then I will take one for the team and let her on the couch.

Homemade bath soap crayons

And the day wouldn't be complete if we didn't make a craft or do something creative that Cameron has come up with!!

Today we made bath soap crayons....
We mixed up the ingredients (I was a little grossed out using the cheese grater to grate a block of regular soap).  Added some food coloring (note to self, add more next time).

then we pressed them into the mold (cookie cutter) they chose.  Cameron wanted a heart and Mackenzie chose a butterfly.

Then enjoy your finished product during bath time!

Trick or Treat

What great weather for trick or treating!!  It was almost hot....no need for coats or clothing under/over the costumes!!  Cameron started out wearing his fireman hat, but after RUNNING to about 8 houses, it fell off and Jayden stepped on it.  Because it cracked and a little piece broke off Cameron didn't want to wear it anymore.

The only picture Kenzie would let me take, and its blurry...

This sunset was amazing.  It was such a pretty night.

I tried to get Mackenzie to stand by this witch since she was a witch, but she didn't' want to.  So Cameron did :)  I took them around to the houses up and down our street and then came home and traded Jeremy.  I passed out candy while he took them to the street next to us.   It was a successful Halloween.  Mackenzie was into it this year and stayed out longer.  Not sure if that was due to the weather or her being older?

School Halloween parties

I volunteered to help at Cameron's school party.  I was super excited for it.  I was really sad when I found out they couldn't wear their costumes!!  Seriously, 1)it's a party 2) it's Halloween 3)we spend a lot of money on costumes that need to be worn more than once 4)it's festive and 5)it makes it more fun for the kids!!  I decided to get over my anger and "dressed" Cameron up with a pumpkin tattoo on his cheek and he wore his "haunted half" shirt that he got at the race we did.

Regardless of the lame rule it was FUN!  Cameron got a strike in the bowling game....I sneaked over and got a picture (I was helping out at the cookie decorating table).

 Musical chairs in action....
Cameron made it to the last two, but I think got beat.

Such a cute group of boys at my table to decorate cookies.  I LOVE watching kids decorate cookies and cupcakes.  It is hilarious.  I have no idea how they even taste the cookie.  I swear one kid had dumped a whole bottle of sprinkles and like 25 candy things on his!

Cameron and his cute friend Reese in their "S" hats....they creeped me out!  I refused to help out at that table :)

(p.s. Cameron isn't wearing his glasses because Mackenzie picked them up off the table and threw them at him the day before.  I don't know if he didn't see her do that, or if he didn't bother to pick them up.  Either way they were running around playing and pretty soon someone stepped on them.  Yes they broke.  Yes he had to get new ones and it took a week!)

Mackenzie was so excited for her Halloween party.  I wish the teacher wanted helpers, I so would have been there!  I wanted to be a fly on the wall at least.  She was excited and got to wear her costume.  I made pumpkin teeth for her to give to her friends and teacher.

Mackenzie with her teacher and a few of her friends.  She didn't wear her hat long, but at least I got a few pictures of her with it on.  Her teacher is so cute, she dressed up as a bee.
