A camping we will go...

The kids were super excited to go camping and had their suitcases packed several days before we left.

We went camping up American Fork Canyon at Mirror Lake.  It was beautiful and we lucked out on the weather (as well as finding a camping site).  It was raining most of the day and night Thursday.  It was cloudy and a little rainy Friday when we planned to go camping.  We had heard it would be bad/rainy weather all Friday day and night, but should clear up Saturday.  So, we didn't know if we should wait and go Saturday or keep our original plans and leave Friday.  We suck with the original plans and it turned out great.  It didn't rain, but because of the previous days rain it was a little muddy...no big deal.  We roasted hot dogs for dinner.

Went on bike ride after bike ride, after bike ride :)

Cameron rode his scooter around the camp site and we explored.  We saw a few squirrels and other critters.

Then it was time to make s'mores!!  Cameron roasted his marshmallows and kept eating them before making them into s'mores.  He didn't know he had a marshmallow mustache and once I told him, he couldn't get it off.  It was pretty funny!

Cute Mackenzie just loved everything about camping.  She was lots of fun.

It was a full moon.  Which was super pretty, but also made it difficult to sleep and when Cameron woke up at 5 am it was still so light he thought it was time to get up!
It didn't help that he woke up at midnight and threw up all over several times.  Jeremy had taken Mackenzie to the bathroom so they weren't in the tent.  I heard Cameron throwing up so I hurried over and then he threw up in my hands.  We had to wait for Jeremy to get back to the tent and open the zipper so I could dump out the throw up.  We had to wipe down the tent and salvage as much of the blankets and his sleeping bag as we could.  We changed his pajamas and all tried to go back to sleep.  Since he threw up on Kenzie's pillow and sleeping bag too, she didn't want to sleep on it.....so she slept with me in my sleeping bag and shared my pillow!  It was a night of little sleep.  We had planed on staying over Saturday too, but after we lost a few sleeping bags and several blankets along with his pajamas to barf, we decided we would just go home and call one night good!

You couldn't tell he had thrown up several times the night before in this picture!  He woke up and was ready to go at 5 am.  We contained them in the tent until 6:30 am and then made breakfast.  Went on a bike ride and then hiked around Mirror Lake.

Cameron was interested in counting all the big pipes we found.  He was so cute too, he kept saying the "scenery was beautiful" and "mom you have to see this you are going to freak out" pointing to a pretty wild flower.  The wild flowers were amazing, I couldn't get over how beautiful it all was up there!

We had fun.  Camping is awesome.  Nature is beautiful.  My kids are the best!

A girls best friend....

Mackenzie loves her dog.  She cried when we went camping and we couldn't take Tica.  She didn't stop asking about Tica the whole drive to American Fork Canyon....and who was going to "babysit" "my dog" while we were gone.  Such cute pictures!

Patriotic Sunday

I wanted to get some pictures of the family in our patriotic church clothes :)  But Jeremy left early for a church meeting, so I thought we could do it after church, but Jeremy had changed his clothes before I even got the kids out of the car :)  So this is what we got....

LOVE!!!  Pictures of mackenzie smiling/laughing/paying attention to the camera are rare so this was total success!!

At least she was looking at the camera, not thrilled to take another picture though.

Cameron is Mr. GQ, he always has been....

I am in love with these two.  They are amazing in every way.  When I count my blessings, I count them twice!

4th of July FUN

We celebrated the 4th of July at Last Chance Lakes again this year.  Grammy and Grampy hung out in the shade....it was a HOT day!

The kids had fun playing on the beach building sand castles.  And they especially had fun using the squirt guns, Grammy and Grampy brought for the grandkids, to squirt Uncle Rick while he was on the paddle board.  We had a fun little water fight :)

I almost didn't get Cameron in this picture I was laughing so hard....he was soooo cute waterskiing, he would wave at everyone on the dock when we passed it.  He was waving so cute it was cracking me up.  He was just relaxed, having fun, and skiing like a pro :)

I love this picture too, you can see all the kids on the roof of the dock ready to jump after Cameron passed.

Mackenzie patiently waiting her turn to ski.  She couldn't wait to try it for the first time.  She just kept asking when she could ski and  would say, "if I fall off, I will just get back up and do it again."

She had no fear and did awesome.  She didn't want to stop, and when we did she asked to go again.  Margo said she is the littlest/youngest waterskier they have ever had ski at their lakes.  She was so tiny her legs barely spread far enough apart to go into the boots.
I am a proud mommy.  I have amazing, brave, adventurous kids!

We ate lunch, the kids also went swimming in the swimming pool.  Jeremy and I got to ride our motorcycles....there are some great dirt trails out there!  We had a yummy dinner and then left for home, just in time to do our fireworks.  It was a long, eventful day full of FUN, Family, Friends, Food, and so importantly Freedom.

Lagoon day

The kids look forward to Grampy's Lagoon day every year.   They always have so much fun!

Mommy and Mackenzie rode the teacups a few times while the boys went on a bigger ride.  However, Mackenzie rode Bombora at least 10 times!  She isn't afraid of anything and loves to have fun!

Cameron was as happy as could be.  He wanted to do everything and was sad there were a few rides he still isn't big enough for.

Grammy and Grampy rode the train...we saw lots of awesome animals!

Daddy and Cameron tried to give me high five...we were super close!  Thanks grammy and grampy for taking us all to Lagoon.  We are excited for next year :)
