Kids....will be kids!

I guess it was going to happen sooner or later....it usually does right?  Most kids cut their own hair at some point.  I thought Camerons hair looked funny this morning when I went to put gel in it, but didn't look close enough I guess.  It appeared as if he just slept on it funny from still having wet hair after his bath or something??  I sculpted his hair into the foe-hawk and off we went.  It wasn't until after washing his hair tonight and drying it off that I really paid attention to the difference in length of the hair.  I asked him if he cut his hair and he answered "yes" and I asked him why and he answered (I don't even remember his answer), then I told him that only mommy, daddy, or the girl at Cookie Cutters can cut his hair and that he lost the privledge to use scissors now....reminding him that when he used a pen to draw on the wall he lost the privledge to use pens for awhile because pens are for paper....  He calmly said "yes mom, but I didn't use the paper scissors I used the hair cutting scissors that you use for my hair, so I still get to use scissors because I used them for the right reason"  Seriously what do you say to that??!!

 

 

This picture doesn't do justice to how funny it looks (However, I do have to say that Jeremy wanted to buzz is hair because of it and I said no way, it definitely isn't that bad!  He did it in a good spot where I can hide it a little by styling his hair)

 

....and this picture makes it look worse than it is because of the glare.  But at least he got it out of his system and he has "been there done that" so I can check that off of his list of things I get to look forward to while raising Mr. Cameron :)

Shhhh....

be very very quiet, we are hunting for butterflies....

 

Ok, I understand the butterfly net....but the crazy heart glasses and the fuzzy flower headband?!  Cameron has fun with the neighborhood friends.  I love their imaginations at this age!!



Swimming lessons

 Both Cameron and Mackenzie are water lovers and love to swim!  This is Camerons second session of swim lessons.  I put him in some swimming lessons last summer, it was only a week long class but he learned a lot and loved it.  Last weekend we went to St. George and lived in the swimming pool while we were there.  Cameron was swimming from the side of the pool to Jeremy and I as if he had been swimming for years.  So when we got back from St. George I signed him up for some more classes.  Mackenzie hasn't stopped saying swimming since St. George, and will bring me her swimming suit randomly throughout the day and say "swimming!"  I hope to get her in lessons next....

 



I got him in these lessons while I am waiting for the lady that taught him last year....she is booked out a ways.  I figured he might as well practice and learn while he waits right? There are 3 other kids in this class, and it is a little chaotic since there are lessons in every lane of the pool (loud and hard to hear the teacher), but he is in the water where he loves to be!

 



The funniest thing about swimming with Cameron is he actually gets out of the pool to go to the bathroom.  When we were in St. George and he got out two different times to tell me he had to go to the bathroom, a lady said to me, "man what kid actually gets out of the pool to go to the bathroom?"  That would be my kid :)

Mackenzie has rythm!

 

Mackenzie really gets into her music class....just like Cameron did! Notice the other kids just hanging out close to their mom/dads and dancing or playing with their scarf, meanwhile Kenzie goes crazy running all over. I love it!!! She was dancing soooo cute too. By the time I grabbed my camera I only caught a tiny bit, but the teacher was cracking up! I love going to this class with her.

 

 

 

Trampoline

We bought a trampoline from my sister a few weeks ago and the kids haven't stopped jumping on it :)

 



We plan to dig a hole and put in the ground but we couldn't wait until the hole got dug to get the trampoline....so hopefully we won't have any injuries before it gets put in the ground!

 



The neighborhood kids love to come play at our house.  Cameron has several cute friends that come over all the time.

 

Mackenzie's first hair cut

Mackenzie was super excited to get her hair cut.  She always watches Cameron get his cut, and I think she felt like a big girl today! A few before pictures of her long hair...

 



She did better than I expected at sitting still...the sucker,watching Mickey Mouse, and blowing bubbles helped keep her attention too I think :)

 

bye bye 1 1/2 inches of your baby hair!!  I kept it in a little bag....

 



I was dying when she started to style her hair.  She clipped it up and used a round brush.  It made me laugh....I would have never thought to "style" her hair with a round brush and blow dryer this young.  But hey she has the hair right??  Plus it just made her seem so much older!

 



 She picked out a pink balloon and couldn't wait to go play on the slide.

 



 

Such a cute little hair cut for a cute little girl :)  She kept touching her hair all day and saying "cut, cut"  she was so proud....lol

Cameron's dentist visit

 Cameron went for his dentist check up and did awesome!  He sat so still for the xrays...

This was his first time actually getting his teeth cleaned.  He thought it tickled his teeth.  Cameron just watched the movie in the celing and opened his mouth when he needed to....just like a good patient.  The dentist said his teeth looked great and to keep doing what ever we were doing.  I told him that Cameron usually reminds me that we forgot to brush his teeth once we get in bed.  He has always been so good about brushing and flosing!

Quiet=trouble

While we were bringing groceries inside, Mackenzie saw a "shobel" and started to play with it. So I finished bringing in the groceries and started putting them away. It was a little too quiet...I looked around the corner and saw this little cutie pie making a mess,but having so much fun!

 

Easter Sunday

 Right when we woke up Cameron wanted to go find our Easter baskets the Easter bunny hid.

 

Mackenzie found hers under the pool table.  She noticed the "baby" first and was so excited.  She LOVES babies and can't get enough of them.  (My friend came over a few weeks ago with her newborn and Mackenzie wouldn't stop saying "baby", had to sit by her, try to touch her, and cried when the "baby" left.)

Cameron had a harder time finding his basket.  The silly Easter Bunny hid it behind the couch.  He was so excited with the kite he got he couldn't wait to go fly it.  Of course it was the one and only day we have not had wind!!

after breakfasat Cameron and mommy went to church.  Daddy stayed home with Mackenzie because she had a runny nose and we didn't want to put her in nursery if she was getting a cold.  We were late to churh and Cameron missed out on his first opportunity to sing with the primary kids in sacrament meeting!!  I was so bumbed to hear that we missed it.....I had no idea they were going to sing! Oh-well it was probabaly better since Jeremy wouldn't have been able to see it.

 

 

After church we went to grammy and grampy's for dinner and an egg hunt.

 



another successful egg hunt with money in the eggs instead of candy.  Janessa found the golden egg this year.  Cameron was so close to it but Janessa got it first. 



Cameron had fun counting his money and couldn't wait to put it in his piggy bank.  It's a good thing the Easter bunny brought Kenzie a piggy bank to Easter.

 



I didn't get many pictures of the day but it was a wonderful day with awesome weather.  I think we all enjoyed the sun!  We had fun with family, eating yummy food, laughing, and talking.  I am thankful for the real meaning of Easter....for Jesus and the resurection.  I am grateful to know that one day I will live again with my family.

Easter at Paw Paw's

 

We took the kids to an Easter egg hunt at Paw Paw's assisted living place.  There were lots of eggs hidden all around.

 

Mackenzie knew what she was doing and it was so cute to watch her look for he eggs and put them in her basket.  Cameron was soooo excited he found a golden egg!!  It had $5 in it.

 



Mackenzie wasn't sure about the Easter Bunny.  She pointed to it and got excited from a distance, but when I got closer she clenched onto me and turned her head.  Cameron mauled the bunny and gave him at least 50 high fives.



He was so excited....and just wanted to hang out with him!  The funny thing is Cameron came over to me and said "mom, why doesn't the Easter bunny talk?" and then after running over to him and paling around with him for awhile more he ran back to me and said, "I think that is really just a guy in a costume....that isn't a real Easter bunny."  I said "why do you think that?" and he said, "well, he doesn't talk and it just looks like a costume...not real."  Oh boy, this kids brain sure does think.  His wheels are always turning....and it won't surprise me if he asks me about all the "holidays" in another year!
