We were at Grammy and Grampy's house Sunday for the monthly Grammy drawer dinner (the kids get to pick a prize from the Grammy drawer after a delicious dinner). Lindsie was playing with Mackenzie and had her stand up and hold onto this shopping cart....away Kenzie went. Yay! She is one step closer to walking. I didn't get a very good video of her, but she was pushing that thing all around and walking so fast. The video is funny because she kept going in circles. Anyway, she will be walking soon. Or if she is like Cameron, which she is, she will be running soon!

Happy Birth Utah
The 24th of July is a holiday in Utah, a pretty big holiday with a huge parade and most everyone gets the day off. One of these days when the kids are much older we MIGHT brave the parade. It's a little too serious for me though, people camp out the day before to get a spot! We did things a little more low key and less crowded....went to the zoo :)
We played at the park first before seeing the animals. Cameron cracks me up. He tells me to take pictures of him and said, "mom take a picture of me inside this turtle shell" and "mom take a picture of the alligator biting my arm" and then he wants to see them.
We always have to do the train ride....
I love to watch these two laugh with each other.
Our neighborhood does a breakfast every year for the 24th, but we had it on that Saturday. Cameron was so excited to decorate his bike for the bike parade. We got there right before they were about to start so we were in the back of the pack...the very last of the group. I figured I would take a few pictures of them starting and then I would run up a little and get some more pictures as he passed and then at the end. Well, I didn't realize Cameron was in it to win it!
He took off when they said "go" and was weaving in and out and around kids. He was riding so fast and worked his way up to the front of the line.
You can see him just behind the kid in the blue shirt...Cam passed him up and finished in record time. Too bad it wasn't a race! I guess I should have specified that to him. However, I didn't even think it was necessary. When I finally made it to the finishing point Cameron ran up to me and said "did I win? I got here the fastest. So I won right?" Oh man I have NO idea where this competitiveness came from :)
After a delicious breakfast (which I wore more of than ate, thanks to Miss Kenzie) they had lots of fun activities for the kids. Cameron went fishing for treats.
And rode on the swings. He played in the bounce house and even got to ride a horse. He had lots of fun.

Mixed emotions
I get a little sad when I have to put away cute little outfits that no longer fit Mackenzie. It sure doesn't seem like she is growing up as fast as Cameron did, but I really notice it when she grows out of her clothes. But on a positive note, I get to put more cute outfits on her :) I loved this dress when I bought it and even though it's just a 9 month dress I couldn't imagine her ever being big enough to fit in it! Yay, she gets to wear it to church a few times....then it will go in the "too small for Kenzie" box. Good thing I lots and lots of cute clothes for this cute little twerp!
P.s.
I took the pictures before I put on her cute little red patent leather shoes! And, unfortunately I think she already grew out of those. They were a one wear wonder.
Feeding the not so hungry
If we weren't at a public park/pond I would swear these ducks were somebody's pets! They Were afraid of nothing and totally friendly. I assume they know the drill, and they get fed very often....what makes me think this you ask? Well the fact that they smelled us coming a mile away and were all out of the water waddling up the grass to us before we even parked and got out of the car! Sheesh....it was insane!
They kept quacking and waddling closer and closer to Cameron, causing him to back up further and further. This brazen duck snatched the bread right out of Cameron's hands and "he ate my finger!" So much for a relaxing day feeding the hungry ducks. It was more like getting attacked by the begging, ungrateful, greedy ducks who fought each other for morsels of bread! I tell ya, next time we will be bringing protective wear since apparently this is a full contact sport. Not to mention I will be buying some loafs of day old bread somewhere and not taking our loaf of nice, new, soft, new, brand new, bread! Good thing I left Kenzie in her car seat, we didn't even have time to get her out, like I said, they knew we were coming before we even got there. I had to jump out of the car to give Cameron the bread. Our hour of leisure "let's go to the park and hang out to feed the hungry ducks and watch them play" turned into a "drive-by throw some bread at the ducks before they take it right out of your hands and hurry as fast as you can to get back in the car and shut the door before they jump in the car." Good times I tell ya' :)

Superman
I bought Cameron these superman jammies last fall and he loves to wear them. I tried to move them from his pajama drawer since they are pants and long sleeves now that it is so hot. But he found them and wants to wear them all the time. I was looking through some boxes we had in our storage room and found this superman cape I bought for him as a costume....possibly for Halloween. But then I decided to just get it out and let him play with it. He was soooo excited and flew around the house, jumping (flying) off the couch and flying so fast yelling "superman!!"
I was laughing so hard because he kept telling me how to take the pictures. He would pose and say, "ok now take a picture of the back mom."
Not sure where he learned about splits, but this was his attempt at spits. Maybe he thought it looked more like he was flying?? Such a funny kid! He is a true super hero :)
Cow appreciation day
Who knew there was a day dedicated to appreciating cows? It was Maw Maw Robin's last day in town so she wanted to meet up for lunch. What better place to eat than Chick-Fil-A...especially on cow appreciation day....get a free meal :)
Cameron wouldn't leave the cow alone. He seriously followed him around and kept giving him high fives and trying to get his attention.
They had face painting
and cow craft making....games where he won some prizes.
Mackenzie enjoyed looking around at all the people impersonating cows
They had a DJ there and several times during the "party" they had the kids dance with the cows. Cameron was in heaven. He could dance and sing all day long. Here is is doing the Hokey Pokey with the Chick-Fil-A cow. Cameron followed the cow around trying to get him to dance even when there wasn't any music playing. Needless to say it was a very successful, entertaining, fun, and free lunch!

Quick visit
Paw Paw Garry came to visit for the weekend. It was a quick visit and a jam packed weekend. But it's always nice to have Paw Paw Garry and Maw Maw Robin come.
We went to Park City for some shopping, alpine slide riding, and eating. I love this picture. Cameron grabbed his hat before we left the house and said "I need to wear my hat like Paw Paw". Paw Paw Garry always wears a hat and Cameron has picked up on that! Cameron wanted Paw Paw Garry to hold him while they waited in the LONG line to get tickets for the slides. It was a busy and hot day!
Cameron liked riding the ski lift up to the top. We looked for squirrels and wild flowers and waved to people coming down the other side.
My favorite part is going down the slide! It's so much fun. Cameron had a blast and begged to go again right when we got off. But we had to leave...more places to see and food to eat. We headed to City Creek so they could see how awesome it turned out. We did some shopping, of course Cameron wanted to go in the Disney Store AND get soaking wet in the fountains. This time he didn't run through the squirting fountains he dunked his head in the waterfall several times and scooped up water to pour on himself. Of course I HAD to go shopping and get him some clothes at the Gap. He couldn't eat dinner soaking wet! I am starting to think he's got this all figured out, he knows he will get some new clothes if he gets wet. Maybe I should start running through the water with him...not a bad idea :) Saturday night we had a BBQ and let the kids play for a few hours. It was a good weekend.

Fun in the tub
Mackenzie outgrew her little bathtub we put on the kitchen counter. She really could have moved to the big tub several months ago...she wouldn't sit still in the little tub. Constantly grabbing for the paper towel holder, the fruit basket, any and all decorations. She would splash so much I ended up mopping the floor after her bath was over. So, little Mackenzie moved into the big tub and LOVES it! She hears the water running and makes a mad dash to the bathroom. She isn't afraid of anything! I have to make sure the toilet lids are all closed and the bathroom doors are closed. Something I never had to worry about with Cameron, he just wasn't interested in it??!!

4th of July
Our 4th of July started off at IHOP for breakfast....with Grampy and Grammy
....then we headed out to Last Chance Lakes. Margo was the hostest with the mostest since Rick was in Alaska this year.
Cameron doesn't usually like to get in the water (unless it is his bath), but he got in for a little while. Kenzie on the other hand didn't want to get out of the water! She is going to be our little fish. Ironic how that works when she is the one with tubes in her ears and shouldn't swim! She splashed all around and didn't want me to hold her. She kept trying to stick her head in the water and eat it or something.
Mackenzie for the dunk!
Cameron was too concerned about his bandaid to smile for the camera.
Jeremy and Janessa
Margo, Michele, and Barold hanging out in the shade.
Jeremy having fun!
Surprise, Surprise....Grampy got Kenzie to sleep! His shoulder is her very favorite shoulder
to sleep on :)
Troy and Janessa
Cameron surprised us all when he said he wanted to go on the tube. He was excited, but said he wanted to go "slow". I never in a million years would have expected him to have a cautious side. He really is cautious, studious, and very careful (unless it comes to climbing or jumping off everything!)
all day in the sun and water tends to wear you out :)
Cameron wouldn't be Cameron if he didn't try to make you laugh!
He just had fun playing on the beach and digging in the sand. What a fun day!

3 year well check
I am a little late in posting Cameron's 3 year well check....but everything went great and the best part was NO shots! He asked me before we left if he had to get shots. I wasn't sure so I said "maybe" he talked about it the whole way there. Then when I was checking in he asked the girl if he had to get shots, she didn't know and said "maybe" also. When Cameron asked the nurse she said "no" but just to make sure, Cameron asked the Doctor too. He was relieved and was able to relax :) Cameron weighs 32 pounds now (51%) and he is 37.8 inches tall (53%) and is at 45% for his body mass index. This time they did an eye test and he had to look at a chart from across the room and tell her what objects he saw. I think she said his vision was 20/30, not positive but she said it was a normal/good score. So overall he is healthy and growing! Cameron is hilarious in all sorts of ways, he likes to eat onions!! He asks for them! Sliced, raw onions!! He loves onion rings, but when he told me he wanted onions from a salad bar I figured he would see them on his plate and change his mind since it didn't have the fried batter around it. But much to my surprise he ate them....just like the Grinch :) He continues to eat and love veggies and sometimes when I ask what he wants for lunch he says, "soup....vegetable soup" He loves to share and offer food to people, especially his friends that come over. They always have a bag of chips, granola bars, fruit snacks or popcicles, he is such a gracious host. Cameron still has a love of books and wants to learn to read so bad. He always says "look mom there are readings on this" pointing to words on a sign or a card etc. and asks me what they say. He is a thinker and going to keep me on my toes. The other day he was at Rick and Margo's house and he asked uncle Rick if he could eat the fruit snacks down stairs. Uncle Rick told Cameron he needed to eat the food upstairs in the kitchen and Cameron quickly said, "why? There aren't any crumbs in fruit snacks." Rick wasn't sure how to respond since he clearly wasn't expecting a 3 year old to think logically about the reasons behind not eating food outside of the kitchen.

"Friends"
Kenzie tends to get a little messy when she eats, so I took her clothes off for dinner tonight. I figured she was going to take a bath right after anyway :) Cameron was sitting in the chair next to her. He was close enough for her to keep reaching over and grabbing his hair and shirt. Cameron thought that was pretty funny. She reached over and gave him a hug. He said "we're friends, she's my good friend" and then he said "mom take a picture of us as friends" What a Kodak moment!! I am so glad Cameron has such a love for his little sis.
10 months old
Kenzie turned 10 months old on the 4th of July! She is growing so fast and learning so much every day. She got her 2 bottom teeth last week and had a rough couple days/nights while they came in. But she bounced right back to her happy self. Once again we are starting the Ferber sleep method to get her back to sleeping through the night (for the 10th time...every time she gets back on schedule she gets sick or something else throws her off schedule).
Kenzie is a crawling machine. She crawls up the stairs any chance she gets. She crawls over things instead of crawling around them. Cameron loves it when she crawls over him, in fact he usually lays down right in front of her so she will crawl over him. She eats pretty much anything and out eats Cameron every time! She loves Mac & Cheese, peas, apple sauce, and anything sweet!
She graduated to the big tub and LOVES every minute of it. She thinks she is such a big girl.
Mackenzie loves balls. She knows how to clap and starts clapping if you say, "yay Kenzie".
