Cameron learned how to pedal his bike a few weeks ago. He was so proud of himself and was excited to take the giant long handle off of the bike. He pretty much taught himself how to pedal too. We tried to help him last summer but he wasn't that interested. With it being nice weather lately we have been outside more and one day he just started peddling. We have gone for a ride around the neighborhood a few times and Cameron can ride for a lot longer than I expected. He didn't want to stop. I had visions of having to carry or walk his bike back because he was too tired to ride it back home himself. FUN!
Another accomplishment/milestone that Cameron has mastered is going to the bathroom in the potty all the time now (well, not at night yet he still wears diapers). But the last few weeks he has been going #2 in the potty too! Again, it was just on his own time that he decided to do it. I look forward to the no diapers at night, but not sure how or when that will come. Right now I am just so happy for him and watching him learn. It's amazing all the things we as humans have to learn!!
Mackenzie has been crawling the past few weeks. She does her own style of crawling though. It reminds me of an inch worm....the way she gets her knees up and butt in the air, then her arms slide forward and when her tummy touches the ground she starts over. Or she does a little army crawl thing that actually pushes her backwards. Either way, she is determined and won't let anything get in her way of getting to a toy or something she is looking at.
I decided I should enter the hog or calf tying contest at a rodeo one of these days. I have gotten some good practice with, what I can imagine it would be like, just trying to change Mackenzie's diapers. I thought Cameron was wiggly but she is 10 times worse. She will not sit still and rolls over on her stomach before I can get her diaper completely off (this causes some yucky messes and requires me lots of extra wash). I end up flipping her over to her back at least 10 times just trying to change her diaper or dress her. I try to make it a challenge for myself and see how fast I can do it and if I can beat the record every time :) One thing about my kids is they definitely keep me on my toes!!
