Our little Monkey turns ONE!!

I can't believe it!! I don't know how that year went by so fast, and yet so slow! My little baby isn't a baby anymore. His birthday started off with a haircut at Cookie Cutters (he got a balloon), then lunch at Cafe Rio where his BFF Quinn gave him a cute animal puzzle, and then dinner with mommy and daddy at Red Robin (he got another balloon). I didn't get a picture, but Cameron got to try ice cream for the first time. We got a piece of their mud pie. He liked the whipped cream the best...probabaly because it wasn't as cold.

Then we had a family party for him....Great Maw Maw and Great Paw Paw came....Garry, Alicia and thier kids Emma, Macey and Molly joined the festivities.

Margo and her kids Lindsie, Troy and Mallory along with Grammy J and Grampy

Cameron and his favorite person....Grampy! Cameron absolutely loves Grampy and wouldn't let him out of his sight. In fact Grampy pretty much had to hold him the whole night.

Mommy and Daddy with a big one year old Monkey!

The spread....

I did a monkey theme for the party since I call Cameron "my little monkey" and because he LOVES monkeys. I ordered this cute blow up monkey, monkey balloons, and monkey plates.

Just a picture of the mountains from our back yard and to show the snow STILL on them. We have had a crazy winter this year....it snowed a ton just a week ago. Luckily the weather was nice today and perfect for outdoor fun! This picture is for you Grammy T...I know you are always trying to get a good picture of the mountains when you are here and it seems like you never can since it is either snowing or raining!

We blew up the big bouncer and Cam wasn't quite sure what to do with it...

Cousin Macey helped coax him inside with his favorite fishy toy....

Everyone having fun on the play set and in the bouncer

So this picture is of the MESS in my kitchen as I made the birthday cakes! Luckily I had help from two friends because if it took us 3 hours, who knows how long it would have taken me by myself! They are pros at this cake making, decorating thing. All I knew is I wanted a monkey cake and had an idea of what I wanted it to look like. They came with all their decorating tools and icing recipies and we opened a bakery.

Not to bad ehh? I thought they turned out pretty darn cute! I made a mini monkey cake for Cameron to dig into and a big one for the rest of us.

I'm not really sure what I was expecting....I know Cameron is super pickey with food and with the feel of foods when he touches them. So I knew he would be cautious and slow to warm up to Mr. Monkey. However, I thought he would have at least stuck his hand into it and maybe tried to eat it?? He got so excited when he saw the cake after I made it....I couldn't keep him from trying to grab it then!!

Since he hates to be confined and doesn't last long in his highchair, we thought maybe he would enjoy it more if daddy held him. Daddy "gently forced" some frosting into his mouth which really ended up smeared on his face since he refused to open his mouth.

Then we decided to take the cake out on the lawn away from all the spectators thinking maybe he was being cake shy....nope that didn't help....he just wasn't interested in the cake. I have to admit I was a little, ok maybe a lot disappointed but I like to always look at the positive side of things and what I came up with is "hey, more cake for me!!"

Next it was present time. Here is the loot....he made out pretty good! The wagon and presents inside the wagon were from Grammy T. We got them when she was in town. Cameron loves the wagon at Aunt Margos and at Grammy J & Grampy's house so I figured he would enjoy one of his own.

Cameron had lots of help from his cousins opening his gifts.

Of course he Loved the Mickey Mouse car that Grammy J & Grampy gave him. It was the first thing he opened and after that he wasn't interested in much else for a long time! This will keep him busy with all the music and blinking lights, plus he loves to push things!! A perfect gift for him! Of course he didn't care about the new car seat we got him, but he will once he gets in it. He gets to face forward now! He also got some great sand pile toys, a fun bean bag game, and a punching penguin thing from his cousins....andother small stuff from us...

Great Maw Maw, Lindsie, Margo and Grammy J

Opening gifts.....

Mallory was excited about the clothes she and Emma opened for Cameron. Grammy T always picks out such CUTE clothes for Cam. Cameron had a fun time at his party, but I think he was a little overwhelmed with all the festivities and people. It's a lot to take in for a one year old! After his bath he was ready for bed and should sleep good tonight!

Happy Birthday Hubbs!

Jeremy turned 34 this past Saturday. I made delicious cinnamon rolls for breakfast and he ate in bed. I have to admit the cinnamon rolls weren't home made, but they were made fresh from Costco's bakery...so that's pretty much home made right?? Anyway, I actually think they are better than home made ones! Since Jeremy's birthdy fell on a Saturday this year, we got to spend all day with him. Grammy J and Grampy came over to babysit Cameron while we went out to dinner that night. We went to Jeremy's favorite restaurant....Tepanyaki. It was good and always fun to catch shrimp in the air when the cook throws them to you. It only took Jeremy 3 tries to catch one shrimp...I told him that was a sign that he shouldn't eat it since he is alergic to shrimp after all (he did end up with a stomache ache from it too). I caught my shrimp on the first try, even though I am not a fan of shrimp I ate it since it was already in my mouth. After dinner we went to Smart Cookie for dessert since Japanese Steak Houses don't usually have great desserts. Of couse I am a fan of desserts and can eat them anytime. Jeremy on the other hand was too full to enjoy anything so I got to eat the birthday dessert for both of us. Then we planned to go to a movie, but Jeremy decided he would rather go back to our house and play cards with my parents...so that's what we did and we got our butts kicked by the old folks. They didn't show any mercy to the birthday boy. Jeremy opened his gifts and was excited for his new helmet to go with his dirt bike he got a few weeks ago. And I have to say he looked might handsome in his birthday suit....I mean his birthday outfit I bought for him :) Hope you had a fantastic 34th birthday OLD man!!

Grammy T comes to town

Grammy T came to visit for all of our birthdays this month. This was her 3rd time coming to visit and we hope she gets to come more often! We love when she comes to town because we do so many fun things!
Jeremy's brother Garry and his wife and kids moved to Utah a few months ago so Grammy T gets to see all of us when she comes. However, they bought a house and ended up moving in the same weekend she was in town. Jeremy helped them move Friday and Saturday. They decided to take a small break Satruday and we met at Pei Wei for lunch and then went to Dino Towne at the mall and Grammy T paid for us to ride the fun train. Cameron was excited and loved the ride.

Choo Choo...all aboard

We went to Build A Bear and I told her not to worry about getting Cameron one because I thought he was too little and wouldn't really care about it, so I didn't want her to "waste" her money on one for him. We went along just for fun. Once we got in the store Cameron got all excited and started kicking his legs and waving his arms making all kinds of noises. I looked where he was looking and saw the cutest monkey. Who knew Build A Bear had things other than bears?? So Grammy T said she wanted to get him one. We picked out some cute clothes for him and named him Mo Joe.

Macey, Emma and Molly are Cameron's cousins on Jeremy's side, then there is Grammy T, Cameron and me!

Cameron is so funny. He loves to pick up anything and carry it around. Most of the stuff he picks up is heavy and big. It amazes me the stuff he carries and walks with. He was so excited to walk around with this box...even though it's almost as big as he is.

My little monkey holding his little monkey! They even have the same hairdo! Cameron loves to play with Mo Joe and carries him all around.

This was just a cute picture of him in the cart at Lowes. Grammy T and I went there so she could get Jeremy a birthday gift. The trip went fast and she had to leave, but we can't wait to see her again! Maybe next time we will have to visit her in Florida. At least we will be guaranteed some nice weather. We had a nice big snow storm while she was here. We were all shocked that it snowed and it's almost June! We had an inch or more on our lawn and the mountains got dumped on.

I was born. I can't believe I celebrated my 33rd birthday already. May is such a crazy month for us that it almost feels like my birthday doesn't count anymore (especially now that Cameron's birthday is in May). However, my family and friends did a good job of helping me celebrate. According to Jeremy I've been celebrating the whole month of May :) My birthday morning started off with chocolate chip pancakes brought to me in bed...yum yum! Then I went to lunch with my mom and sister Michele. We went to Thanksgiving Point to eat and shop. After Jeremy got home from work my parents were here to tend Cameron and Jeremy and I went to my favorite restaurant Carrabbas. I opened my present there after we ate. Jeremy got me a Wii. Then on Sunday we had a big family celebration for Lindsie's, mine and Jeremy's birthdays at Margo's house. Those are the only pictures I got! Then my friend took me to lunch a week later and gave me my present. A few days later a group of my friends took me to The Cheesecake Factory (my other favorite reataurant) for dinner and gave me some nice gifts. Something funny happened too....a different waiter came over to our table and handed me a piece of cheesecake boxed up and said this "is compliments of a gentlemen at another table" and pointed to the table. I told him thank you and waved a polite wave making sure he saw my wedding ring!! I guess that's not a bad thing to have happen to you when you are OLD, my friend said "at least you know you still have it" HA HA . So I have to say I had a great birthday and I feel a year older!!

Petting Zoo

Another adventure for Cameron....he is having so much fun experiencing new activities and learning about the world!! Today we met my friend Lindsay and her little girl at Gardner Village. They have a cute petting zoo there and a pony ride for kids.
Cameron was fearless (not surprised) and had so much fun running around with the animals.

This is "Sally" the biggest pig I have ever seen, she was even bigger in person! All I can say is WOW that is a lot of bacon :)

This was the cutest little pig I have ever seen. It was running all over the place and came over to this rock to scratch himself on it. Cameron wanted to pet it. Molly was ok just looking at it from a safe distance she was a little nervous with all the aminals but kept saying hi to all of them.

The funniest thing ever happened to me! I sat down on the rock by the sheep while Cameron was playing with them and I felt something tugging on my hair. I looked over and there was this goat eating my hair!! He just kept gnawing on it and then left when he got full I guess.

Here is a little video of Cameron enjoying the day. It was a perfect day because hardly anyone was there. I was so mad because my camera battery died 10 minutes after we got there. Oh-well we will be going back for sure and I can get more pictures then! After seeing all the animals and stepping in lots of poo (that would be me!) we got some lunch at the bakery there and had a picnic and enjoyed the awesome weather.

Dino Towne

I always try to go somewhere during the day with Cameron, so WE don't get bored at home. Long gone are the days of him sitting in a shopping cart while I wander through TJ Maxx or meet a friend for lunch while he plays with his toys in his highchair. So I have to get creative now...it's been too cold to go a park yet and he really isn't big/old enough to play in the McDonald play land.
Today I took Cameron to Dino Towne. It's just a little play area inside the South Town Mall (Theresa I found it!! It's not by the food court and Carousel as we found out when you were here last time). He was so excited to play and run around.

Cameron climbed up these stairs to the tree house and then I helped him down the slide. It was so fun to watch him run around and just try anything.

He loved this dinosaur thing and kept running back to it.

Then these "rude" kids kept climbing on it and not letting him get to it. Cameron didn't let them intimidate him and he kept going back to the dinosaur. I had a hard time watching these kids be jerks to sweet little Cam. I felt bad because you could tell Cameron was looking at them and smiling, trying to play with them. They never said anything to him or touched him, which is a good thing for them and their moms!! He was definitely the youngest kid in the place. He doesn't seem to let that bother him.

I told you he loved this thing. He kept trying to kiss it or eat it??

Black and Blue

I think I waited too long to take these pictures....but if you look close you can see Cameron got his first black eye! I'm not quite sure when or how it happened, but I can only guess. He is so active he is always falling or bumping into something. Poor little fella.
