Bye Bye Cast

We went back to Primary Children's today for Camerons appointment to get more x-rays and see if his broken leg is better. The x-rays showed that the break is not completely healed, but new bone has grown around it and the Dr. said that it will continue to heal. She said the cast could come off!!! They wanted to put a walking boot on, but didn't have one small enough for his foot. So she said that he might not want to put a lot of weight on it at first and it could take a few days before he started walking again....obviously she doesn't know Cameron!

She took out this circular saw and said "now this makes a loud noise....most kids cry, so sit him on your lap and hold him still." Cameron really isn't afraid of noises or much of anything actually, but I didn't know how he wouldl react. He just sat there staring at her cut the cast in half. Of course the Dr. was shocked and said she hasn't cut off a cast that a kid didn't cry or at least act scared.

He took off so fast from the elevator I had to turn off the camera so I could chase him! Then I started filming again...he ran to another waiting area where the wall was all painted.

Yay for Nursery!

I have been taking Cameron into Nursery for the past several months even though he hasn't been old enough. I stay in there with him and he gets to have snacks and play. He couldn't wait to go there every Sunday. He doesn't turn 18 months for another week, so technically he shouldn't be in there by himself. But they let me leave him in there today. I was excited for the "freedom" to be able to go to my class and actually listen and participate instead of chase Cameron around and keep him occupied, quiet, and off all the chairs. However, I was a little sad and nervous too! What if he cried? What if a kid took a toy from him? What if he needed something and the leaders weren't paying attention? The list goes on and on... I knew I shouldn't really worry though. They would come get me if he was crying. And knowing Cameron he would be fine, have fun, and play.

(off the subject, but notice the little hole in his cast by his heel...yes he has worn a hole in his cast just by running around ALL day long)

And that is exactly what happened! He was so excited to show me his picture they gave the kids of the Prophet President Monson. He also colored a picture of things to do to follow the prophet. He loves singing time and can't wait to get his hand stamped after they sing. Cameron is so cute sitting in the tiny chairs at the table eating his snacks. I have to admit that I did leave class 4 or 5 times to peek in the class window just to check on him. I know "such a first time mom move". Let's hope the rest of the Sunday's from here on out are just as good! I might start enjoying Sunday's again :)

Two cute boys

Why is it kids are always so cute when they are asleep?? I love sneaking in his room at night just to see him sleeping.

However, this time he wasn't in his room sleeping....he was snoozin' on the couch with daddy! The only thing that could have been better about this picture is if I was taking a nap with my two cute boys!

So it didn't take long for Cameron to get back to normal. He is walking (run walking) all over the place. The cast really doesn't stop him from doing anything. He still climbs, walks, goes up and down stairs, has a good attitude, laughs etc. He is just a little off balance sometimes :) Cameron is such a fun kid! My mom's cousin sent Cameron a get well gift of some foam blocks that he can do all kinds of things with. He loved them and kept saying "bocks, bocks!" then of course, as most kids do, they enjoy the packaging just as much as the actual toy. He kept putting the bag on his head and would walk around with it. He would play with other toys and just thought it was normal to have it on his head. Cameron you make me laugh!

Trick-or-Treat

Jeremy scheduled his trip to India to make sure he would be back in time to take Cameron Trick-or-Treating. He wasn't expecting to get the flu and not feel very good when he came home though! We figured since Jeremy was sick and it was raining that we wouldn't worry about taking Cameron out. Besides we didn't think he even would know what was going on.

We were wrong....after the first set of Trick-or-Treaters came to our house he figured it out. We gave them candy so he wanted some....basically one for them and one for me! He got the idea :) So we put on his little costume and Jer took him to a few houses and then I took him to a few more. Cameron was eating a piece of candy in this picture with Jeremy holding him, it was right after we just gave some candy to the kids.

I didn't even have a cute bag fo him, but he didn't care...he clung on so tight to this bag! He knew it held all the treats. He didn't even want to let me hold it for himl.

When we got home I wanted to get a few pictures, but all he wanted to do was check out his loot. I can't wait for next year. He will have a blast. Plus he won't have his cast on so he will be able to walk to the houses!!
