Melt my heart

The love these two have for each other is so sweet.  Mackenzie LOVES her "big brother'  anytime she is sad and crying she wants a hug from him.  She wants to give him a hug the first thing in the morning and at random times during the day she will say "hug" and go get a hug from him.  The other day we were leaving Aunt Margo's house and she was sad.  She was crying for 10 minutes in the car.  All of a sudden I realized she stopped crying.  I looked back and saw this.  Melts my heart :)

Swimming lessons

 Mackenzie was super excited for her first swimming lesson.  Cameron is a pro, but he was excited to practice and learn some more skills :)

 Mackenzie LOVES the water, but she usually hates getting water in her eyes.  When she is in the bath or shower she is always yelling for a towel to wipe her eyes if a little water gets on her face.  So, I was worried that swim lessons would be the same.  I was hoping the new goggles she picked out would help.  And I think they did help.  She LOVED her first class.  She let her teacher hold her and she laid back in the water, she blew bubbles, she even held her breath a went under for a few seconds.

Preschool graduation

 Cameron graduated after 3 years of preschool!  His last year I switched schools so he could go to school with his best buddies Tyson and Jayden.  He loves Leaps and Bounds preschool and had so much fun with friends and learned so much.

 His teacher said a little something about each kid as they walked down the isle and went up to get their diploma.  She said Cameron was a "math wiz" and was always counting, adding, and subtracting numbers.

 Grampy and Grammy came to the graduation.  The kids sang several cute songs they had learned throughout the year and went over the letters of the alphabet and the words they started with.

It was a great graduation and I am such a proud momma!

 Mackenzie found a little friend and the only puddle in the whole place :)  She was able to entertain herself since she got a little bored with the graduation program.

 Cameron with his teacher Miss Angela.  Cameron is beyond excited for Kindergarten and is more than ready to go.  He says he wants to be a "worker, builder", a "missionary", a "daddy", and a "fireman" when he grows up.  "but first I want to be a missionary and then the other stuff next".

 Grammy and grampy let Cameron choose where he wanted to go for lunch after the ceremony.  He chose Training Table so we all went and ate a delicious lunch!

That night after dinner Jeremy and I took the kids for yogurt to celebrate this milestone with Cameron.  We love you buddy!  You are going to grow up to be something amazing, I just know it!

Neighborhood sugar rush

 A few times a summer we have a neighborhood get together at our neighbors house.  The kids love to go because they get to make cotton candy and run around their big yard playing games and acting crazy.

 Grab a stick and make your way into the cotton candy machine.... just don't drop your stick in there like I did, it flips around making a horrible noise and scares everyone :)

Is there a mechanic in the house?

So I was out pulling weeds while Mackenzie was riding around in Cameron's truck.  She doesn't really know how to steer it and can barely reach the gas....so she got out and was putting her toys in the back and just playing with the radio.  I looked over and she had the hood up and "fixing" it.  I was laughing really hard, but was also really impressed!  Next she will be changing the tires on that thing.

5 year well check

Cameron went to his 5 year well check the day after his birthday.  He knew he was going to get shots so he could be ready for Kindergarten.  He was a little nervous, but was so proud of himself when he got the 3 shots and "didn't even make a noise or anything, not even one sound!"  He went around telling everyone that day and the next day.  

He was so embarrassed that he had to wear this gown...with only his underwear....he really didn't want to put it on was acting so shy about it.  I had to take him in the bathroom for a urine sample and Mackenzie came into the bathroom with us.  When we went back in the waiting room Mackenzie said, "I want to go pee in a cup."  She also wanted to wear a gown.  LOL

Everything went well on the check up.  Cameron is 43.3" tall (57 percentile) and he weighs 38 lbs (38 percentile).  He didn't do so well on the eye exam and so she referred him to an eye doctor for a more thorough eye exam.

 the next day, later in the afternoon, Cameron complained of some "bumps that itch" on his leg.  There were a few white bumps that looked like bites of some sort...I wasn't sure what they were.  Several hours later he was itching his tummy and when I lifted up his shirt this is what I saw.  So I took him right back to the pediatrician's office.   They said he was likely allergic to one of the shots, but since he had 4 different shots they couldn't determine what it was he was allergic to.  So we were told to give him Zyrtec and some anti itch cream.  The next day he woke up with his lips so swollen he couldn't talk very well, and his eye lids were red and swollen with hives.  He had hives all over his neck and face too.  So we figured a trip to Instacare Saturday morning was more important than his soccer game.  Luckily they just gave him a prescription for Prednisone and said it was still "surface" and wasn't affecting his breathing or bad enough for a shot/iv.  He wanted to go to his last soccer game, so he went and played great in between the itching :)

 A few days later we went to the eye doctor and found out Cameron has an eye problem called Amblyopia.  I guess the nerves in his right eye stopped developing and so his left eye took over and because it was dominating the right eye never strengthened and the vision deteriorated.  So he doesn't see very well out of his right eye.  He said that glasses should help correct the vision in the right eye and help it to 'catch up" to the left eye.   So we went the next day and picked out some glasses.  He will get them next week.

They had to dilate his eyes so he got to wear the cool sunglasses when we left so the sun wouldn't hurt his eyes.  Cameron did so well the doctor couldn't believe how well he sat and did what he asked.  He doesn't usually use the big eye machine for kids because he said kids don't usually sit still enough to look through it, and most kids don't understand when he asks if one is better than two or three better than two etc.  But he decided to try it on Cameron after he did all the other tests just to help determine the right prescription.  Cameron has always done so well at the doctor, dentist, and haircuts nobody can believe him :)  Poor kid, he was so excited to turn 5, but little did he know he had all this to look forward to!!  Good thing he has such a good attitude and can roll with the punches :)

Cutest super hero ever!

 Let the super hero party begin! Cameron had a hard time narrowing down his invite list.  We could have had 25 kids, but got it down to 17 friends.    He was thrilled the day was finally here.

 All these pictues are out of order but anyway the kids went through super hero training camp....They practiced their bomb detonation skills...

 I love this picture....spiderman's bomb gets away from him up in the air so he has to get off his chair to grab the bomb and detonate it back on the chair.  The super heroes had a "blast" with this game!

 The photo booth was fun.  It was a last minute idea....I was going to keep this party simple, but I kept thinking this would be so cute.  So I sat up until midnight making the props.  I am glad I did, it turned out so cute!

I had a hard time rounding up all the kids to come inside for the photo booth....I couldn't drag them away from the bounce house or the games.  So I didn't get every kid in a picture.

 Another superhero training game was the power throw.  All superheros  can throw super hard and have good aim....they got lots of practice

Cupcakes!  It was 90 degrees so it was super hot outside.  My plan was to do the entire party outside. However, after playing all the games outside and jumping in the bounce house, the kids were HOT.  They were all asking for drinks every 20 minutes.  So of course the one thing I was wanting to do outside ended up inside...cupcakes!!  We opened presents inside hoping they would cool off and then go outside to eat, but it just ended up all happening inside.  I wish I would have taken pictures of the kids and where they sat.  I don't know how any of them even tasted the cupcake with the amount that was on the floor.  Superhero party was a success!  They all got certificates saying the officially completed superhero training camp to go in their goodie bags.  I can't believe the party is over, I spent weeks planning it.  I didn't know what to do with my time the next few days after the party.  I didn't have capes to make, or masks to cut out or games to draw and cut and laminate.  No more photo props to make, or cakes to design and bake....I had my nights back.  Now Mackenzie keeps asking me about her birthday party!  I love you Cameron.  You are going to do lots of great things in this life.  I can't wait to see what you do.  You make friends so easily and are so kind to everyone.  You have an imagination that doesn't stop and your artistic ability is awesome.  You love to draw!  There isn't anything you can't do or be!
