A few minutes of SUN

If you live in Utah than you know how crappy our spring has been this year! It has rained or snowed most days. This is particularly hard when you have an active boy who would live outside if he could. Since the sun was out for a few hours today we went to Home Depot to buy some flowers and top soil....Cameron played with his sidewalk chalk (which he thinks is more fun to throw as high in the air as he can and watch it land and break) and lawn mower while I planted away.

after planting, I pulled a few weeds in the back yard while Cam played on the swings...

then it started to get cloudy and it was Cameron's nap time so we went inside. Of course Tica was outside with us, but was nowhere to be found when we went inside. After calling her name, clapping and whistling for 5 minutes we went inside without her. It is so funny to watch Cameron yell for Tica and clap....it's also funny when he tells Tica no and points to her bed or cage and says "go Tica, bed!" Its a little strange to know that is what Jeremy and I sound like since that is obviously where he picked that up from!! So I put Cameron in his bed and do our little nap time routine when I hear Tica barking like and attack dog (I remembered the neighbors had some workmen in their yard) so I left Cameron's room quickly and went out the front door, grabbed Tica, put her in her cage and came back in to see Cameron running towards me. I explained that Tica was in time out and that it was nap time so we hurried back into his room....then it dawned on me....."wait a minute, you were in your crib when I left your room and now you're not!" I was beginning to wonder if the day would ever come when he would make the escape from his crib. I decided not to make a big deal about it, or even mention it to him because I was a little worried that the napping days were over now that he knew how to climb out. But he went to sleep and didn't climb out again until he woke up. He did climb out that night once after we put him to bed, but other than that I am keeping my fingers crossed that he will continue taking his naps in his crib!!!!

St. George

May is a hectic, crazy month for us....there is Mother's Day, my birthday, Cameron's birthday, Jeremy's birthday, and Memorial Day!! All of this usually brings family/visitors, lots of planning and cleaning and not a lot of relaxing. So this year I decided to plan a little get away for my bday weekend :) My friend was kind enough to offer their house in St. George for us to use since they weren't using it that weekend. We left Thursday around 3 pm and came back Sunday night. We drove through rain which turned into hail and then snow, I have decided that we have not been on one road trip that hasn't been bad weather no matter what time of year it has been! Anyway, it was warm weather in St. George. We shopped at the outlets on my birthday and I bought stuff for Cameron and baby MacKenzie, Jeremy bought himself clothes, but somehow I didn't buy anything for ME??!! We ate at a yummy Italian bistro/bakery for lunch. Then got a delicious carmel apple at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, played at a park, took a nap and then went to Outback for dinner. After Cameron went to bed Jeremy and I watched a movie. It was a great day! We enjoyed the swimming pool one day (well, Cameron wasn't too excited about it after Jeremy dunked him under the water, he decided he didn't want to ever get back in so we only stayed at the pool about 30 minutes), we went to the farmer's market at Tuachan on Saturday. On the way down there we figured we would introduce Cameron to the DVD player since it was a 4-5 hour drive. I took a few cute pictures of him watching his movies and of course you have to have popcorn to go with the movie!!
This was at one of the parks we went to, he loved all the animals at this park. I forgot my camera in the car so Jeremy took this with his phone. I didn't take many pictures on this trip, I think we were too busy to think about it :)

He was a great little traveler, he took a nap on the way down and the way back both about 1 1/2 hours! He was so excited to go on a trip and had fun watching me pack and help pick out toys etc. Jeremy got home from work early and we loaded up the car and told him we were going to go on our trip to St. George. He kept saying "trip to George". We stopped at Aunt Michele's house first to drop off something and Michele gave Cameron some stickers and cookies and told him to have fun on his trip. So we left her house and I realized I forgot my Ipod, we headed back to our house and as we pulled in the garage Cameron got all sad and with a quivering voice said "TRIP, TRIP to George, NO, TIRP!'" Poor little guy thought we changed our minds and weren't going to go on the trip....or he thought the drive over to Michele's was our trip? LOL Randomly throughout the drive down there he would just say "trip, trip to George". He started calling the house we stayed at the "trip house" so every time we would go somewhere and come back to the house, he had to announce it was the "trip house" and we were in "George". He had a blast on our trip and is such a good little trooper! I had a great bday, but can't believe I am 34!! Sheesh I am getting OLD.....

Humor

I believe that you have to find the humor of everything in life....sometimes I find it after the fact and sometimes I find it in the middle of the situation. For instance last night was one of those totally frustrating, but pretty humorous times. It's no secret that Jeremy has a "snoring issue" which causes me nights of interrupted sleep or sometimes hours of laying there practicing my anger management skills :) So, he finally followed through with the doctor's recommendation of getting a sleep test done. I was actually looking forward to this, not only in hopes of finding a solution to his snoring but mostly to get ONE good night's sleep!! I even joked about it and he knew I was excited. My parents came over Friday night to tend Cameron while we went out. (side note: All that day a very shrill beeping sound would go off every 10 minutes, I thought it was a dead battery in the smoke detector but Jeremy didn't have time to look at it until we got home that night. After going to the store and buying a new battery to put in it, that still didn't work, so he called the alarm company and they said it was the carbon monoxide detector that was going bad and it was hooked up to the alarm. So he told him how to "hush" it so we could go to sleep that night and said we would need to get a new one.) Cameron had thrown up Friday night while my parents were tending him, but slept good the whole night and didn't throw up all day Saturday. We thought it might have been the 24 hr bug since he did have a few blow outs in his diaper! So Saturday night Jeremy leaves for his sleep test, I get Cameron in bed and am looking forward to my peaceful, restful nights sleep. A few hours after Cameron is asleep I get in bed and right as I fall asleep he starts crying. When I went in there he was throwing up....a few times. I get him out of bed and as I am taking him to the bathroom he throws up all over me (in my hair, down my shirt etc). So I change his pj's wash him off, change my clothes, take his sheets, blanket and bear throw it in the wash and try to get him back to sleep. He tried so hard to go to sleep but kept crying every 20 minutes I had to go back in there. I waited up for the sheets and stuff to dry, which was good because the next time he cried and I went in there he had thrown up and had a complete diaper blow out. So we did the same routine as above. by now its 4 am. and I haven't had any sleep, but I get Cameron back to sleep. Just as the carbon monoxide detector starts making that shrill beeping sound every 10 minutes!! At that point I started laughing out loud and pictured Jeremy sleeping peacefully while all this was going on, seriously what were the chances!!

Mom's Day

Mother's Day started off with breakfast in bed...yummy chocolate chip pancakes, strawberries and eggs! Cameron thought it was funny I was eating in bed and wanted to bring his plate in bed with me. Then we all got ready and went to church.
After church I took a little nap and then grammy & grampy came over for dinner. We had grilled chicken & baked potatoes. I made a delish strawberry pie for dessert! Then Cameron gave me his present....He (with a little of Jeremy & grammy's help) made me this cute flower arrangement. On Saturday Jeremy told me that he was taking Cameron for a few hours, I was suspicious :) then we met up for dinner and when Jeremy went to pay I asked Cameron what they did and he said "play at Grammy & Grampy's house" Jeremy was mad I tried to get it out of Cameron....lol
I got some other nice gifts and had a great Mother's Day! I am so grateful for my own mother and I appreciate her more and more every day....especially being a mother now I totally understand the sacrafice and selflesness that goes into being a mom. So thanks mom for all you did and still do for me. You are an amazing mom and I love you. I feel so blessed to be a mom to cute Cameron, he bring me so much happiness!

Tulip Festival

Every year at Thanksgiving Point they have the Tulip Festival. I have never gone, but knew that my mom LOVES flowers more than anything. So my sister's and I took her to lunch down there and then my mom, Cameron, and I walked around to see the "pretty flowers" as Cameron would say. Since we had never been before, we weren't sure exactly where to enter. So we entered into the Children's area, but the lady said we could easily get to the tulips from there (it was quite a walk though we found out), but the best part is the power was out so the credit card machine didn't work which meat we got in for free :) Plus we got to enjoy the fun kid stuff too. The only thing was since the power was out the water features weren't working on Noah's Ark. Cameron didn't know the difference and he had a blast climbing up to the animals anyway.

He wanted to give the rhino a kiss....

Then we started through the acres and acres of tulips, paths, ponds and bridges...

Cameron RAN the entire time. I really couldn't keep up with him. He would get SO excited pointing out all the flowers and telling us the colors of them all. He would point to them and say "more flowers, OH see more yellow ones...."

One of the times he stopped to let me take a quick picture, before he was off and running again!

So many flowers to see, so little time! Needless to say he fell asleep in the car before we even pulled out of the parking lot! He took a 2 hour nap that day too....sheesh maybe I should take him there everyday! I forgot to take a picture of the amazing water falls though! I think I was too busy eating the most delicious, hot out of the grease, mini doughnuts with cinnamon and sugar on them to worry about pictures! There were a few little food carts and boutique tents set up right around the waterfalls....it was so pretty!
This video shows how much energy he had, it was the end of the day and we had been there about 1 1/2 hours already and he was running non-stop. He must have crossed this bridge 20 times. Notice him pointing excitedly at all the flowers, you can't here him but he is saying "more flowers" and naming the colors :)
