8 more days!!

I am definitely counting down the days until we get to meet little Mackenzie!! I am so excited to see the little girl who has been inside of me for 9 months now. She has been VERY active the entire pregnancy, not resting much and can throw a great right hook and a solid elbow to my ribs. I have been getting heart burn daily/nightly the last 2 weeks which I never had when I was pregnant with Cameron. And this pregnancy has been harder on me physically, especially these last 3-4 weeks (harder to walk, can't sit very long, more aches and pains, swelling and really aching feet...) Just another reason to count down the days :)

I thought I would post a few pictures of Mackenzie's room. I put the finishing touches in there tonight and think it is all ready. Cameron is very excited about her room and always wants to show my friends and anyone who comes over "baby Kenzie's bed" and "baby Kenzie's blanket"

I couldn't find a valance or bed skirt that I liked or that matched the color scheme I chose, so my friend made them for me. I think they turned out really cute. We went and picked out the same material that was in the blanket/quilt my mom made so everything all ties together quite nice!

I love how this turned out, the beauty of having my own vinyl machine and being able to create things!

We got the baby swing out about a week ago along with some other items to set up and get ready....I wanted Cameron to get used to them around the house in hopes they wont be of such interest when she gets here. He is so interested in this swing and loves to push it, turn the buttons (he even gets a stool to reach the ones on top), he puts his animals/toys in it and swings them. I had to take a picture of this....it was nap time and he didn't really want to take a nap, so I suggested he put Mojoe the monkey in the swing so he could take a nap too. He thought that was a great idea and carefully placed him in there. Then he reached in grabbing the monkeys face and gave him a big kiss and said, "night night Mojoe, I love you SOOOO much!" in the cutest little voice I have ever heard!! I wish I had it on video, it was priceless!

My cute mom and sisters wanted to have a little "shower" for me so they planned a day to all get together. We met for lunch at Chick-Fil-A and then went to a really fun park/learning center that the kids could have played at all day. While we opened presents.

Here is the cutest blanket my mom made for Mackenzie, she made Cameron one and he LOVES that thing and won't sleep without it.

Michele and Margo both gave me lots of cute clothes and some really cute little boots and shoes. All the cousins are excited to add another cousin to the gang and the shower helped me to get more excited and realize I really am pregnant and am having a GIRL :) Thanks mom and sissies for being so excited with me and for all the support during the pregnancy.

A trip to the dentist

Cameron went to the dentist for the first time yesterday. We talked about what you do at the dentist and why we go to the dentist, he was so excited to go and practiced saying "AWHHH".

Of course Cameron was a "model patient" the dentist said and couldn't believe he was only two! He laid there perfectly still and let the dentist look in his mouth and he helped him count his teeth.

I am so glad I found this pediatric dental office, it is the cutest place ever. Too bad they don't accept our dental insurance, and good thing this visit was free :) They have TV's up in the ceiling and Cameron that was cool to put on the earphones and watch the movie.

There were lots of fun things to play and do in the waiting area.

When the dentist was all done they made Cameron a balloon animal. He told them he wanted a "orange dinosaur" so that is what he got! The check up went great. He has all of his teeth except the 4 molars which will be coming in soon. The dentist said that's usually why they call it the terrible two's is because those molars are coming in and they hurt. As far as Cameron's teeth, he said there was great spacing and they all looked straight and he didn't see any problems. Cameron loves to brush his teeth after his bath as part of the bedtime routine. So hopefully he will continue to have a nice set of chompers :)

Adios......

to Jeremy's tonsils, deviated septum(s), uvula and hopefully snoring (fingers crossed)!! Jeremy decided, after a year of us discussing him getting these procedures done, that the perfect time to schedule the surgery is a few weeks before I have a baby :) So he went under the knife on Thursday. It was quite a funny sight, us both walking into the hospital, people thought we were there to deliver the baby. Of course it was the worst of worst days for me....I woke up having these really awful contractions and my let felt paralyzed. I could hardly walk. To give you an idea of how bad it was, Jeremy said, "you look like a dog dragging a broken leg behind." We made it to the waiting area and luckily they said I could stay in the room they had us waiting in while Jeremy went to surgery so I could lay on the bed. The only problem was I parked my car in a 2 hour parking spot and needed to move it a half hour ago....so they wheeled me down in a wheel chair. I felt really dumb, but hey I guess I had a good excuse.

Here is the patient about 2 hours after surgery. I had to laugh at him because the night before he asked me to bring his laptop to the room so he could work that night and the next day. I told him there was no way he would be able to function and even want to work. He hasn't had surgery since he was 12 and had his appendix out, so he really had no idea what he was in for with the anesthesia and morphine etc. I waited during the surgery which lasted about 3 hours, including the recovery time. They brought him to the room and the Dr. said everything went as planned and it all looked good. A few hours later we ordered room service and he was able to eat a strawberry shake and some creamy tomato soup. Jeremy stayed over night in the hospital and I picked him up around 4 the next day. He has been doing pretty well, and has been a great patient!

We went to the Dr. today and he got the splints out of his nostrils, but there is still a long road to recovery the Dr. said. Not fun for Jeremy, but he is hanging in there poor fella. They gave us the splints for souvenirs and I asked why we didn't get the tonsils in a pickled jar...he said they used to do that, but some kid ate his and got really sick because of the toxins and pickling formula. So now there is a law they can't give them to you. Isn't that how it always works, one idiot ruins things for the rest of us??!! I wanted to see the tonsils, especially since I didn't even know what they were. My brother-in-law likes to point out the fact that I have a master's degree, but thought tonsils were teeth! Good thing I am a social worker and not an ear, nose and throat Dr.!

Camping

Daddy and Cameron went camping Saturday night. It was Cameron's first time camping so they just went one night since Jeremy wasn't sure what to expect. All the camp sites were full and since Jeremy didn't reserve one they had to drive up American Fork Canyon and just find somewhere to pitch the tent. They didn't leave the house until 4 pm so by the time they got their site and set up the tent it was around 7 pm. They made tinfoil dinners and then hung out in the tent.

It rained most of the night so the ground was all muddy when they woke up. They weren't able to hike around or ride their bikes, so after making breakfast they packed up the tent and came home. Cameron had so much fun and keeps telling mommy how daddy and Cameron went "way up in the mountains" and how he "sleep in a sleeping bag in a tent" and of course he was so excited to help clean up and put the tent away he kept telling me he "put the tent away with daddy, and it was wet." He is excited to go again next year daddy!

One of these things is not like the other....

Apparently we have a little trickster on our hands! He has a toy barn that has some fake eggs that go to it and I guess he thought it would be funny to put one of them in the egg carton. He opens the fridge by himself now so he has played this particular trick 3 times now. Jeremy has fallen for it 3 times now :) I just laugh that he even thought to do this! I look forward to April Fool's day....and as he gets older and wiser, I wonder what he will come up with?!

P.S. Cameron loves pickles and will open the fridge several times a day and bring me the pickle jar and a fork asking me to get him a pickle. The other day he brought me a bucket of ice cream and a bowl and said he wanted ice cream for breakfast. Not sure if he is picking up these ideas from his pregnant mommy or if he is just coming up with these ideas all on his own???

Watching cartoons....

I put on Mickey Mouse Club House while I was making breakfast the other morning and when I looked over at Cameron he had lined up his build-a-bears around him like this. I think one of them kept falling over so he solved the problem by putting a pillow on it....but then of course everyone had to have a pillow!

He saw me take the first picture so the he had to do one saying "cheese" We used to watch cartoons every morning, it was the routine....wake up, change his diaper, get his blanket and sit on the couch watching cartoons while mommy makes breakfast. Lately he has been waking up and wanting to read books. So, we stay in his room for about 30 minutes laying on his bed reading. I like this change! I love that he is so interested in books and its fun to cuddle with my little boy that is growing up soooo fast!

Swimming

Cameron and I met my friend and her kids at a community swimming pool today. I wish we had known about it earlier this summer because we would have gone several times a week! Cameron had soooo much fun. We were there about 3 hours, we packed lunches and just enjoyed the beautiful weather.

there was a huge main area that was perfect for kids to just walk around in. Cameron played with some toys and splashed around.....until he noticed the water slide....then we pretty much just rode the slide ALL day long!!

Honestly we had to have done it at least 50 times. My poor pregnant legs are killing me tonight....the quads got a good work out walking up those steps over and over and over. But it was so worth it! There was a lady that was just hanging out in the water by the slide and after about the 10th time we came down she said, "I could watch him all day, he is having the time of his life. " Cameron would sit on my lap and put his arms and the whole way down he would yell "wahoo" and "yee haw". I love this kid!!

Serious dance moves

If there is one thing that really makes Cameron happy it is singing. His nursery leaders tell me that he is the only kid that sings and does all the actions to the songs. I know how he loves it, because we pretty much sing all day :) He also loves to move (jump, run, twirl in circles etc.) but I have never seen him just dance. I was getting ready one morning and had my ipod on. Cameron came in the room and was just dancing all around. I went to grab the camera and he thought I was going to take a picture. That's why when the video starts he just stands there and then does his "cheese" face. I don't know why you can't hear the music on the video, but just know he was jamming out to a Maroon 5 song!

Pregnancy cravings....

Aren't pregnancy cravings great?? Awwwh who am I kidding this is just a normal craving for

me :) Anyway I went to the store after dinner and came home with a few treats!

I haven't been posting my Dr. appointments this time, like I did with Cameron. So I guess I will update everyone. Mackenzie continues to grow and has 5 more weeks until I evict her from her comfortable living environment. We plan to do the c-section Sept 8th, if all goes as planned. My appointment have all gone pretty smooth, my blood pressure and sugar and iron are always good. Last time they checked she said my sugar was "great" and my iron was "high". Cameron came with me to my last visit and he got to hear "baby Kenzie" heart beat. She is an active baby, maybe not quite as active as Cameron was, but she sure does move around a lot and kick me. I tried to get Cameron to feel my tummy and feel baby Mackenzie move and kick, but he was really concerned and slowly put his had on my tummy for about 1/2 a second....he tried 3 times but couldn't get himself to feel her move. Only 4 more Dr. appointments to go! I can't wait to meet little Kenzie and welcome her to our family!!!
