Our NC house

I am going to see if I can get through this post with out swearing....well, without typing a swear word at least :) So here is our lovely house in NC. Yes we still own it and Yes we are still trying to not own it and Yes it is very frustrating and Yes I am thinking of lots of swear words I could use right now to describe how I really feel about the whole situation, but I am going to exercise some self control :)

Anyway, we got an email from our property manager there to tell us that one of our beautiful trees in the front yard was torn down by the horrible winds and rain storms they had. It sucks because there are two of these trees in the front yard that are soooo pretty when they bloom and it looks like they were just starting to bloom. Anyway, he will cut the rest of the tree down and haul away what is there and send us a nice bill. Oh how I love owning two houses!
I don't think I posted about the last incident a few months ago...he emailed us and said that the hurricane in Florida caused so much rain and bad weather that it ripped off some of our roof and caused water damage through the celing into a room. We paid for some pipe to be fixed along with the celing and roof repairs. I have been grateful that we had renters in there all this time, but their lease is up tomorrow. I guess we will put it up for sale again or try to find more renters. I am going to end this post before a bad word slips out because talking about this IS NOT therapeutic!!

Just the beginning....

What can I say?!? I am sure this is just the beginning of things to come :) Here cam is leaving the scene of the toilet paper crime.

BUSTED!!


A few of these keys are not like the others... If you can't tell, some of my keys are missing thanks to Cameron. He is obsessed with my computer (well any computer he tried to go after our accountant's computer when we were getting our taxes done. Oh but that's another story! Getting your taxes done is torture enough, but I think I would rather self mutilate in the corner than take a 10 month old to do our taxes again). Anyway, one day I thought "what harm could he do I will just let him push a few keys". Well, I should have known he wouldn't push gently he attacked the keyboard with full force and ripped off 3 keys. It can't be repaired. So Jeremy bought me a new laptop and I told Cameron it was coming out of his allowance!!

The cost to repair these blinds and others just like them around the house will also be coming out of his allowance! LOL Good thing Cameron is so dang cute. I took this funny video of him. He loves to spit and laugh!

10 months old

Cameron looks so handsome in his chruch clothes...and so grown up. It's hard to believe he is already 10 months old. He just keeps getting more fun each day! He can wear me out though. He crawls so fast it's funny. He loves opening and closing cupbords, drawers, anything that will open and close. One of his favorite activities is to open one of my drawers and take each and every shirt out one by one and throw it on the floor. He still enjoys throwing tupperware parties several times a day and absolutely loves books. He wants to turn the pages himself and sometimes turns so fast you can't actually read the whole thing. His top 4 teeth have all broken through and he is eating more now. He doesn't lik to be trapped in his high chair to eat though, I just let him crawl around and play while he eats. It works for him. He takes a bite of something and then crawls over to his toys and plays for a second then crawls back for another bite. Hey whatever works right?!? He loves the little goldfish crackers and graham crackers, when he eats graham crackers I put him in the high chair because those seem to get everywhere when he eats them. If I turn on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse he will sit in his high chair and eat them...he loves that show!

Cameron pulls himself up to anything he can and holds onto it as he walks around it. He took his first 3 steps the other day at Grammy & Grampy's house. Luckily I was prepared with my camera. It won't be long before he is running!

Moab Mania

We went on a road trip to Moab last weekend....

I decided to run the Canyonlands Half Marathon this year. It's a lottery so you have to enter your name and pay in November...then wait a month to hear if they drew your name...then wait until the end of March in anticipation and excitement before you actually run the race.

My friend Amanda (also knowns as Quinn's mom & my favorite Training Table friend) ran the race too. We ran into each other right before the race started which was pretty lucky considering there were 5,000 other people there.

Margo and I freezing before the race. It was soooo cold (30 degrees) so everyone stayed in their sweats and had blankets around them right up until the race started. Then we shed a few items, but kept hats and gloves etc. It's really funny because the first 3 miles or so everyone starts taking off their hat, gloves, sweat shirts etc and just throwing them on the side of the road. After the race the volunteers pick up all the loot and it gets donated.

Me, Margo & Tara waiting to catch the shuttle bus to take us to the start of the race. We were freezing!! We had to catch the bus by 8 and the race didn't start until 10 so we were cold for quite awhile.

Jeremy & Cameron were waiting for me at the finish line. It was so fun to see them and hear them cheering for me. My niece Lindsie and her Friend Addie went under the rope when they saw me coming and ran with me the last 1/4 a mile and crossed the finish line with me. It was so cute.

That SAME day of the race...only a few hours later we went on a mountain bike ride. It was Cameron's first time in this bike carrier thing. We bought it right before we left for Moab.

He wasn't so sure about the whole thing, but was being a good sport until we put another helmet on him. He started crying and wanted it off. I don't blame him! I am sure he won't ever want anything on his head again.

Jer rode around for a little bit with him on the back while everyone else was getting unloaded and ready. Cameron was tired, it was cold and he decided he hated mountain biking. I am sure it was way too bumpy for him and he was just getting tossed around too much. So Jeremy took Cameron back to the condo and I took my tired legs mountain biking. I decided this weekend really ended up being for me :) Thanks hubbs for supporting me and also for being a great dad.
We were going to hike to delicate arch the next day, but after cleaning the condo that we all shared and packing up our stuff etc Cameron hadn't taken a nap so he fell asleep once we got in the car and we decided to skip the hike and just drive home. Just gives us a good reason to go back soon!

We had a great weekend. It was chaos but fun chaos staying in a condo with 3 other couples and their kids. There were 8 adults and 12 kids....the kids definitely ruled the condo and the hot tub. I can't wait to do it again next year!!

Montana

Jer & I made a quick trip to Montana last weekend for a baptism. We were worried about the long drive and Cameron. So we decided to leave late and drive through the night hoping he would sleep most of the way. We expected the drive to take 10-12 hours planning on stops for him. We were shocked when he slept the entire drive! Even when we stopped to get gas. It only took us 8 1/2 hours to get there. We didn't expect that to happen on the ride home, but it did! He loved this little fire engine car. He couldn't reach the pedals to actually make it go, so I pushed him. He played with it forever and didn't want to get out. I'm not sure where to get one of these, but we might have to find one!

It made me laugh because it looks like a flinstone car with his feet touching the ground since he couldn't reach the pedals.

I wish Cameron would just be happy for once...we can't seem to get any pictures of him laughing his head off :)

I had NO idea there were mountains outside of Utah. Well, at least ones that could compare to Utah's. This was called Mission Dam and it was so beautiful with the mountain view and all the trees!

First Haircut

I couldn't wait to take Cam to get his shag cut. I took him to Cookie Cutters, which I once thought was a delicious cookie store...but sadly discovered it wasn't. Anyway, it is a way cute kid friendly place. Cameron sat in this cute little car. They let you pick out a movie and the kid can watch it while they cut their hair (great idea!!) They didn't have his favorite Mickey Mouse so I chose Elmo.

I love the cute little cape they put on him. There was no turning back now...I was a little nervous I have to admit.

He loved the car...the horn really honked.

All finished...I think it makes him look older & if possible cuter!!

They gave him a balloon and a sucker. I still think they should give you a cookie after...not a sucker...after all that is their name?! He Loved the balloon and was attacking it. I wondered how long it would last...he had it for less than 2 minutes before he poped it :(

Cameron is such a good kid! For as active as he is, I was worried he wouldn't sit still and this would be a disaster because he would cry and want me to hold him. However, he adapts to things really well and loves new things so the haircut was a success! He sat still and had fun. We can't wait to go back there. They gave us some of his hair in a little bag. They cut off about 1" long locks...several moms in there had 8 and 10 month old kids and couldn't get over how much hair Cameron had. Both of their kids were pretty much bald.

Good Riddance!!

After 4 months of wearing the helmet we gladly said ADIOS!! The Dr. told us Cameron's head looks "close to perfect". I think it might take a little while to get used to him without the helmet, and I am sure there will be days I wish he still had it on...now that he climbs up to and onto anything...it was nice to not really worry if he was going to fall. I knew he was protected. The news was cause for celebration at Training Table of course :)

Cameron's hair is wet in these pictures because he just got out of the bath. But as you can see his hair is long...it's cute shaggy and definitely the boy style right now. However, I think I might take him in to get his first haircut soon!

9 months old

Our little boy is growing up soooo fast! Cameron turned 9 months on Saturday. We went for his 9 month check up and found out that Mr. Cam has lost more weight...he weighs 16 lbs and 8 oz, so that puts him in the negative 5th%. WOW. I did not know it went in the negatives. She wasn't too concerned about the weight issue though, since he was sick with the flu last week. We got the okay to start solids (real human food solids) along with the yucky baby jar food. So hopefully he will gain some weight back. He is almost 28" tall (35%) and his head circumference is

43 1/2" (5%). Basically he has a mini head! Jeremy will tell you Cameron got that from me! He would probabaly tell you that Cameron got all of his dark hair from him though...lol Cameron's top tooth has arrived. He has a habit of grinding his teeth now and it makes the worst noise ever. Cam loves anything new and he always wants ANY paper or magazine that he can get his quick little hands on. I guess he likes to hear the crinkle noise? Cameron has mastered climbing stairs and crawls up them sooo fast...he crawls the stairs about 20 times a day.

We have been meaning to put Cameron in the "big boy tub" for a few months now, but somehow we kept forgetting and would fill up his mini tub that we set on the counter. So tonight we remembered and let him take his first big boy bath.

He LOVED it! He had so much fun. We knew he loved his bath time, but we had no idea he would LOVE it even more in the big tub with his toys. I should have known he wouldn't just sit there and play calm :)

I took this video first, he had only been in the bath for about a minute. He was having fun playing with his toys. I left the room and figured Jeremy could handle bath time tonight. When I left the room I heard Cameron's contageious laugh and knew I better get back in there with the camera. The next video is what I came back and saw....maybe it wasn't such a good idea to leave those two alone in there?? Needless to say Cameron knows how to enjoy life. We will start bath time earlier so he can play longer!
