Happy Father's Day!

The morning started off with me making cinnamon rolls and scrambled eggs for breakfast. The sad thing is we didn't get to eat together (not unusual these days!!) Jeremy held Cameron on the couch and I fed Jer in between eating my food.

I told Cameron to keep a secret about daddy's presents...he promised not to tell.

I had to blindfold Jeremy because I didn't have time to wrap his presents...I barely had time to go buy them!! I don't have time to do a lot of things these days!

Grampy loves holding Cameron. He can't wait to go fishing with Grampy.

Daddy and Cameron. Jeremy finally gets to celebrate father's day! What a great dad he is! He doesn't mind changing diapers, or cleaning up barf, and even takes a shift at night too.

We went to dinner at Michele's for father's day (it was also Genive's birthday). Herb made chimmichangas for everyone, they were sooo good!

better late than never.....

My sisters and their families came to visit us at the hospital the night Cam was born. Since I was pretty much out of it and looney, I didn't tell Jer to take pictures of everyone. Since I didn't have any pictures on my camera I had to ask my sister to email hers to me. So that's why these weren't included in the origional post of the hospital!
Troy and Spencer are so excited to have another boy cousin. They were so cute and were talking about how they were going to teach Cam to play baseball, ride bikes, waterski, and have fun with him.

Troy and Cam

Lindsie was so excited to see Cameron. A week later she made him a little blanket all by herself and wrote the cutest letter to him. It said that she thinks he is so cute and she emailed her friends a picture of him and they think he is so cute too. Cameron is lucky to have so many cousins that he can play with.

Mallory and Cam

The cutest picture of Cameron, you can totally see his little butt chin! I am so in love with his chin...that is one thing I was hoping he would get from his daddy!

Barry, Spencer, Janessa and Michele brought a cute balloon and some roses when they came to visit. Thanks guys!

Rick, Troy, Margo, Lindsie, and Mallory came to visit at the same time Michele and her family were there. It was a full hospital room, good thing the rooms were big. They brought us some cute books to read to Cameron. Margo said they were her kids' two favorite books. Thanks!

Jinxed!

Dang it! I shouldn't have mentioned in the last post that Cameron has been doing good and hadn't thrown up in 2 days...I jinxed it. He totally puked last night, and it was so much I'm pretty sure he was just storing all the food from the last 2 days to trick us and then really let us have it!

3 weeks old!

Wow, I can't believe Cameron is already 3 weeks old! He has been so much fun, I love watching him every day and seeing little changes in him. He is always moving his arms and hands, he likes to hold his binki in his mouth he has strong little fingers and a good grip, and loves to make a million different faces...my favorite is when he smiles! Cameron likes to be awake a few hours a day and has such a strong neck he constantly lifts it up and moves it around looking all over the place.

We aren't quite sure yet, but it looks like he might have blue or green eyes...they don't look brown. His hair is growing, even though it doesn't look like it in this picture. He has some serious sideburns and longer hair in the back (maybe he has a mullet?!)

Aren't his skinny little chicken legs so cute? We are happy to report Cameron has gone 2 whole days without throwing up...HIP HIP HORAY! And....the last 2 nights he has been sleeping longer (2 horus at a time). I think the Previcid medication might be helping, let's keep our fingers crossed.

Who wants their diaper changed??

Our 2 week check up

Cameron is two weeks old today! He was supposed to go to his 2 week check up with the pediatrician today, but unfortunately my mom had to take us back to the pediatrician on Monday (they just counted it as his 2 week). The poor lil' guy is still having problems throwing up and struggles eating at times. We got a different acid reflux medication to try. We still have to hold him upright for 1/2 hour after he eats...which basically means feed him for 20-30 minutes, hold him for 30 minutes, change his diaper (and his outfit if he threw up) and then he might lay down for 15-20 minutes and then he is hungry again...so you start the process over. I just feel so bad for him, he seems to have gas and be in pain a lot and I feel helpless!! Cameron also has an eye infection and clogged tear duct that we got some medication for. So hopefully that clears up.

He got his little heel pricked so they could draw the blood for the test...the bandaids were bigger than his foot! He wasn't too happy about the mean nurse hurting him, so when I had to take his clothes off to weigh him and measure him, he peed all over the table (ha ha). You basically have to change his diaper at your own risk! I haven't been hit yet, but I know it's a matter of time. I have the "wee blocker" which helps a little :) I had my 2 week check today to see how the incision is healing, the bad news is...I have an infection in it so the Dr. prescribed an antibiotic I have to take 3 times a day for 12 days. Hopefully it helps heal it because I have been in a lot of pain the last few days. The good news is now that it has been 2 weeks I can finally drive today and take a bath tonight! I have missed my relaxing baths. The weather today was horrible, I really didn't want to drive in it and thought about cancelling my appointment, but I knew I had an infection and figured I better get to my appointment. We had the worst hail storm I have ever seen...I got stuck in it and turned around to go back home. I waited about 10 minutes and the hail went away and it was just rain, so I ventured out again...I wish I hadn't....that was also the worst rain storm I have ever driven in. I was soooo nervous with the precious cargo in my back seat. My wipers were on high and it didn't even help. However, we made it there and back safely! I picked Jeremy up at his office and he went with us. He has been so good to go to all my appointments and be involved. I am so thankful to have such a great husband and father to Cameron! It has been fun to watch Jeremy be a father and interact with Cameron. We make a great team!

This is what I came home to! No we didn't get robbed, although that was the first thought. Tica struck again. I can't believe how defiant this dog is being! She left some evidence that she had eaten a mint from my purse, we found a wrapper on the floor and a piece of mint stuck to a pillow on the couch. I don't know what else she was looking for but apparently she was checking out my credit cards and gift cards. Once again, how do I get a hold of the dog whisperer??

I love this little guy!!

Oh man...I don't think I will ever get sick of taking pictures of this little guy! Every time I look at him I want to film him or take a picture. I could stare at him all day, especially when he is sleeping or eating because he makes about 100 different faces in 5 minutes.
Cameron LOVES to moves his arms all the time...he sticks them both out like he is flying and just holds them there. Or he moves them around like he is leading music or something.

What a cutie. He likes to sleep with his arms or hands near his face all the time. I am so blessed to have such a sweet little baby, he makes me feel like I have a purpose in life now :) It's a weird feeling, but for some reason I feel like I am just now starting my life!

maw maw & paw paw come to visit

Herb & Genive came to see little cameron...8 days old. He loved seeing his great grandparents.

Herb, Jeremy and Cameron

Cameron was wide awake when maw maw was holding him. He thought it was pretty cool they would come over to see him.

First Outing

You can't see Cameron's shirt very well, but it says "vrooom vrooom, off to grandpas". Unfortunately that isn't where we went today! Michele came over and picked me up (since I can't drive for 2 weeks) and I took the poor little guy to the Pediatrician. He has been throwing up a lot after most feedings. Last night he barfed in his pack & play so much we had to give him a bath at 4 am because it was all in his hair and all over his front and back. I haven't slept in days because every cough or noise he makes I get out of bed and go check to make sure he hasn't thrown up. So the Dr. said he might have acid reflux problems and gave us some medicine to squirt in his mouth morning and night. We also have to hold him up-right for 1/2 hour after every feeding and make sure we don't bounce him around. Then lay him on an angle in his crib so he isn't lying flat on his back.

Of course Cameron did well at the Dr. appt. He has gained a little weight back and is now at 7 lbs. He had gotten down to 6.8 in the hospital, so at least he is growing. After the Dr. appointment Michele and I went to Training Table for lunch...Cameron had been there many times when he was inside of me, but this was his first time being there and not being able to enjoy the cheese fries!

Cameron has arrived!

Here are the pics everyone has been waiting for...sorry for the delay but I've been through a lot the last 6 days!! I'm still recovering from the surgery and all the fun stuff that comes after having a baby. I thought I would be getting back to normal, but apparently our bodies decide to continue to go through more changes after giving birth. Anyway, we got home late Sunday afternoon and have been trying to get used to the idea that we are parents of this cute little guy! I will type more about each picture in a few days, but just wanted to get them on the blog before we got anymore "threatening" emails :)

Today is the day for Cameron to come out and play...the last time my belly will have Cameron in it!

We got to the hospital and Jeremy realized he forgot the camera and camcorder at HOME!! Of all things to forget...anyways my parents showed up about 15 minutes after we got there with their camera. My dad offered to go get ours from our house, but Jeremy called his boss who came to the hospital to get our garage door opener and directions to our house. I got comfy in bed and waited for the nurse to prep me, the wait and anticipation killed me...I wanted to 'get it over with!!'

Jer with my parents...Jer was filling out all the fun paperwork.

Meg "walking the green mile"...

Talk about overwhelming, the surgery room was a little scary looking!

Dr. Later and his crew

WAHHH WAAAAH! Cameron's first words. Jer got to watch as they did the
c-section. He took lots of "gory" pictures that might be a little too graphic to put on a blog for the "weak stomache people". If you are really interested in seeing them, I can email them to you. They are quite fascinating!

Mommy, baby Cameron, and Daddy in his Dr. uniform

I was so happy to be done with the procedure and just get to hold him...what a miracle babies are!
We gave out these little Cummings chocolate booties and stars to people who came to visit at the hospital.

The hopsital has a special dinner one night for the mom and dad. It was really cute how they set the table up and gave us sparking cider...real silverware and we got to choose what we watned to eat. Jer picked steak and I picked chicken cordon bleu....it was still hospital food, but was fun. It was Jer's birthday that Friday night so we decided to pretend we went to a nice restaurant for dinner to celebrate his 33rd birthday.

They gave me a really nice, comfy robe to wear.

My mom and dad were at the hospital every day to help and visit. Jer & my dad went and got Cafe Rio one day and I escaped from the hospital to eat outside on the picnic table.

Us getting ready to leave the hospital. We dressed him in the outfit Jeremy wore when he came home from the hospital. His mom saved it all this time and gave it to us. It was very special.

His first time in his car seat...what a cutie!!

Jer & my dad went and got these balloons to welcome me home. It was a fun surprise they had all set up for me. Jer even took some time to clean and tidy up the house.

Cameron spends a lot of time with his eyes open...he is only 5 days old here.

Tica has done pretty well getting used to the new addition to the family. She just likes to smell him and isn't sure about all the funny sounds he makes.
