Warm weather

55-60 is warm weather this time of year!!  We have had a few nice days which means melted snow and clear sidewalks to ride around.  Mackenzie just decided she wanted to ride her bike (Cameron's old Strider/walking bike) and she has had a blast riding around with Cameron and his friends.  She acts like a big kid and wants to do what they are doing...

Cameron and his friends have decided since these neighbors moved they would have this be their climbing tree.  They love to ride there and climb up in it.  I am looking forward to summer with these last few days of "nice" weather.  It's funny how all the kids come over to our house.  Cameron had 6 different sets of friends playing here today, all day, in and out of the house.  I had to laugh because it was like they were watching our house.  Just as one friend left there would be a knock at the door and it was another friend(s) asking if Cameron could play.

Ski day

Cameron has been begging to go skiing for a long time now....so we decided to take him last Saturday.  We have had some great snow this year!  We went to Snowbird and put Cameron in a little ski school
for the day.  He caught right on and his teacher said he "is a doer!  He just goes for it".

He was in his class from 9-3 while Jeremy and I skied.  Then we picked him up and did a few runs down Chickadee with him.

It was seriously the cutest thing to watch him.

This was when he was with his class, the first hour.  We did a run and then came back to see if we could see him and they were on the "magic carpet" just learning.  He was so proud to show us what he had learned already and went down the hill before his teacher even knew what he was doing.

.
This one he is coming down on the left side of the screen.  He is going super fast on this run and not doing his turns.  I laughed so hard when he flew past me and waved.  He said Hi mom!  Then he crashed at the end because he was going too fast to stop....LOL

Tubing in style

We went tubing at Jeremy Ranch last weekend and had a blast.  Mackenzie had more fun than we expected.  It was a perfect day weather wise and other than how expensive it was...it couldn't have been better :)

The best part about this tubing place is the conveyor belt you stand on that carries you up the hill, so you don't have to walk up it pulling your tube and kids!

There were little tubes and big tubes.  Mackenzie started out in a little tube and switched to a bigger one, she thought it was more fun I guess.

The last ride down the hill Mackenzie rode like this...she was so relaxed and I don't know if she was trying to fall asleep or if she was pretending just to be funny.  Either way, several people laughed and thought it was so cute.

Soccer star

Cameron has been a lot of fun to watch this indoor season.  He is non-stop the whole game and makes anywhere between four to eight goals a game.  This game he scored eight (his highest so far).  He played against his friend Jayden's team so it was fun to watch them play each other.

I love how he stays with the ball even after he misses the first shot, and eventually makes a goal!

 The kick off....

 The huddle....getting a game plan :)

Half time...Mackenzie showing off her photography skills

Right after the game, it was team pictures.  I thought it was so cute how some of the team held hands while walking down the hall to get pictures taken....

and little Mackenzie wasn't too far behind.  She caught up and was part of the team.  She always yells "go Cameron!"  super duper loud.    It was our turn to bring treats this game.  I made cupcakes with soccer ball flags sticking out.  Cameron gets so excited when it's his turn to bring treats.  It's so cute to watch him pass them out and be so proud.  I didn't get a picture of them because it was so chaotic passing them out right after the team pictures.  There were 4 other teams standing around waiting for their pictures, so that means there were 40 kids drooling at the cupcakes and trying to get in line for some :)  I had to monitor it, so I didn't get any pictures of how cute he was passing them out.

Happy Love day!

Cameron was so funny when he woke up this morning.  He said, "mom I know what today is about...it's all about love."  Then he kept telling Mackenzie that it was "love day" and kept quizzing her about "what day is it Mackenzie?"  He had her repeat after him about 10 times, "today is all about love."  We made pancakes in the shape of hearts of course, but Mackenzie wanted a butterfly one so we made her a butterfly :)

I signed up to help at Cameron's school class party.  He was so excited and so was I.  It was so fun to watch him interact with his friends and be so well behaved at school!  He was hiding the heart for a game.

Cameron with some of his BFF's Tyson and Jayden.  They decorated their Valentine bags at school and then everyone passed out their cards/candy right before leaving.  I overheard Cameron "quizzing" his friends on what today was all about....he kept telling them it was "all about love and so you need to be nice".

This is what Cameron passed out.  The tag says "Valentine, you are the milk to my cookie"  and we made sugar cookies for the bag.

They had fun helping me make the cookies the night before.  They got to decorate a few for themselves while I decorated the other ones.  Kids decorating cookies is the BEST!  you don't even see the cookie through all the icing and sprinkles....it was even more fun watching them eat them :)

Keeping the tradition alive!  Growing up every  year on Valentine's Day we would all go in our individual rooms (even my mom) and my dad would put a present outside our door and knock.  Then we would all come out of our rooms and open our presents.  It was just a special thing, and meant a lot to us girls.  I thought it was a fun, different idea and something I would pass onto my kids,

They thought it was a fun idea and Cameron was super excited about the Pop the Pig game he got.  Mackenzie couldn't wait to put on her Hello Kitty pajamas she opened.

Sadly, I don't remember what I made for dinner (it was only a few days ago!)  But the most important part of dinner was the chocolate heart cake for dessert right?!  Happy Love day!

My little song bird

Both my kids love to sing!  And I love to hear them sing.  Cameron is at the stage of making up all kinds of songs.  He loves to play his guitar to Mackenzie and sing to her before she goes to bed.  He will sing real songs and also make up the funniest songs. Mackenzie knows all the nursery/primary songs by heart and her nursery teachers tell us that "she sings every word and knows all the songs, it's so cute!  No other kids sing, but her".   I hope they continue to go through life singing.  I caught this cute video of Mackenzie singing to her build a bear LaLa.  It makes my dad to watch her hold her dolls and babies and sing Rock a Bye Baby or I am a Child of God to them.  I don't know why the video got turned like this....I can't turn it the right way!

Cuteness overload!

I was in my bathroom drying my hair and Mackenzie was playing with her toys/dolls in my room.  I saw that she was reading stories to her doll so I sneaked a picture with my phone.  I listened to her for about 10 minutes just reading to her doll and asking her if she could see the book.

She loves to pretend play and one thing she likes to do is "go shopping".  She loads up her babies in the shopping cart, gets her purse, kisses me goodbye and tells me she is "going shopping to get a few things...I will be right back...I love you honey".  She kills me!  My other favorite thing is when she gets on her phone and paces around the house talking loudly to whoever she called.  She rambles on and on about everything and talks so loud.  She loves to talk on the phone and whenever I am talking to Grammy or Grampy she always wants to talk and she will talk their ear off.  The other day she was in the back seat talking to Grammy while I was driving and I guess she accidentally hung up on her.  Mackenzie said "oh no, she hung up.  That's ok I will text her back." and then she was pushing buttons and kept saying "I am just texting Grammy".  I just kept saying "okay".  When we got home and went inside my mom texted me saying "I guess Mackenzie still has your phone, she has been sending me some interesting texts."  I looked and sure enough she had sent about 5 different texts with all sorts of random letters and numbers.  One of the texts did say OK though.  We got a good laugh out of that.  I have no idea how she knew what she was doing!?  Mackenzie talks really well for a 2 year old, she says a lot of big words like "actually" and "never mind" and "probably" she seems older than she is but she is so tiny she looks younger than she is.  I crack up at some of the things she say though....if she asks for something like gum or a drink and I say "sorry I don't have any gum" she will say "yes you dude!"  and she says things like "why are you getting hims coat" or "look at that guy, hims wearing a red shirt".

Mackenzie loves to change her outfit and put on lots of different clothes during the day.  She helps me pick out her first outfit in the morning, she always has to tell me what she wants to wear or if I pick out something she says, "I don't want to wear those pants I want these ones..."  She also likes to play dress up and recently discovered the dress up clothes at Grammy and Grampy's house.  She likes the play dresses and shoes.  This particular day we were playing good guys and bad guys chasing each other.  So she got Cameron's Spiderman hat and chased us shooting webs at us.
All ready for church.  She loves her red cowgirl boots!

Awww!

It doesn't get much better than this!  They love each other so much and play so well together (most of the time).  Mackenzie loves Cameron and he is so sweet to her.  I love watching them interact and play together.  She follows him around and says whatever he says.  They make up fun games to play and play pretend a lot.

Playing with Grampy

Cameron loves to play Chinese Checkers with Grampy.  Just one of the many things they like to do over at Grammy and Grampy's house.

Library fun

Cameron and Mackenzie love to go to the library and pick out books and movies.  It was snowing all day so we decided to go get some books and movies to snuggle up with :)

Both of them love me to read stories to them.  Mackenzie is so cute to watch when she gets her babies and dolls on her lap and reads to them.  She is always reading a book out loud and making up the story as she goes along.  I have tried to video her doing this but she always catches me and stops....

Chopsticks

I have never had a desire to try using chopsticks.  Too much work to get one piece of rice in your mouth!  They seem rather frustrating to me...I just want to eat :)
The kids, on the other hand, are entertained by them.  They like the challenge more than I do!  Mackenzie basically stabbed her chicken with the end of the stick, genius!

 Love the concentration....

 Got one noodle...

Yay, a few noodles at a time!  Progress :)
