Christmas morning Cameron and Mackenzie gave us the BEST Christmas present ever....they slept in! Mackenzie woke up at 7 and Cameron close to 7:30. We brought Mackenzie into our room and waited until Cameron got up. Neither of us knew he was awake until he broke down our door screeching "Santa even brought Tica a present!" and he was carrying the chew toy Santa left for Tica. We have no idea how long he was in the living room checking out all the loot, but how funny he was the most excited about Tica's toy. We came out and found that Santa ate the cookies and drank the hot cocoa (Santa likes hot cocoa the best Cameron says) we left him. And the reindeer at the carrots we left them. Santa wrote a letter which Cameron was excited to hear me read, and Mackenzie was excited to eat the half of the cookie Santa left on the plate!
not sure why he has been smiling like this, but he's still cute :)
Kenzie snatched the cookie and climbed up on the presents to eat it....
Mommy and Mackenzie
after opening a few gifts Mackenzie climbed up on the couch and just wanted to read her Hungry Caterpillar book Grammy T sent her. It was so cute because she was in her own little world reading for about 10 minutes.
Yay, talking Rex!!
Jeremy unwrapped the "ghost gift" I swear I put something in the box before I wrapped it!! I just can't remember what it was or why it wasn't in there!! December is a stressful month and I have a lot on my mind with getting everything done....my brain was on overload Christmas Eve when I was wrapping gifts :)
Mackenzie LOVED this animated rocking horse. It's head and tail move and it makes noises.
Cameron only asked Santa for two things 1) a penguin dream lite and 2) a pirate umbrella
Santa brought both things because Cameron was such a good boy. A pirate umbrella though?? Really?? Anything you can ask for and he wants an umbrella....such a funny kid. The handle is cute, it's a pirate sword.
After breakfast and playing with presents we went to Jeremy's brothers house to hang out for a few hours and then headed my sister Margo's house for dinner and gift exchange. It was a different Christmas this year since my mom broke her femur bone a few weeks prior, my parents couldn't join anyone for festivities on Christmas day like they usually do....they were really missed!!
we still did the traditional Christmas Eve dinner at my parents' house though. However, instead of opening one gift the kids opened more....they opened all the gifts from Grammy and Grampy and Aunt Michele since we wouldn't see them on Christmas.
Cameron was so excited. He said, "yay, just what I always wished for". Then he played with it all night. And Christmas morning he wanted to play with it before he even wanted to open presents. So we let him play with it for about 10 minutes.

an attempt at a family picture....
The girls....just missing Grammy and Mallory!
One night in December we drove around the lights at Thanksgiving Point and then stopped to see Santa's reindeer.
another December activity was to have some cousins over to decorate cookies. They had fun icing them and decorating them (one candy for the cookie, two for the mouth).
Ho Ho Ho
December is a busy month! We had a fun, festive breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Clause at Jeremy's grandpas living facility.
It was a good opportunity to get pictures for our Christmas cards this year!!
my all time favorite picture!! Another Christmas over, it came and went just like that. It was nice to have a white Christmas this year and be able to spend time with family. Even if most of it was spent visiting Grammy in the hospital....poor Grammy!! Next Christmas will be here before we know it. I better start getting ready now :)
I felt like Christmas never came....so, I am so glad you posted these darling pictures. What a great present Cameron and Mackenzie gave you. They slept in. On CHRISTMAS MORNING !!!!! That is one for the books. Love it that Cameron doesn't ask for a million things and he seems to be more excited for Mackenzie and the dog. Cute Kenzie reading her book from Gramma T. She is going to be like Cameron and love books. Can't wait for next year.....I REALLY CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT YEAR since it can't remember much about this year:)
