This is Cameron's first day of his third year of preschool. But he is going to a different school this year and gets to be with two of his best friends Tyson and Jayden. His school is called Leaps and Bounds and his teacher is Miss Angela. He goes M, W, F from 9-11:30....not really long enough for me to get anything done, but long enough for him to go learn and have fun. I like this preschool because it's a good mix of learning and fun. His last school didn't do ANY art projects or recess or show and tell....it was a little too academic/serious for a preschool I though. And since Cameron is pretty advanced for his age already, he really didn't need a school like that!
Cameron and Tyson
Cameron was so excited for the first day of school. He drew a picture for his teacher. He loves to draw and draws pictures for everyone. He is super good at drawing and is so creative.
Mackenzie walked right in and started playing with the toys. I was talking to another mom and realized we both forgot a picture that the kids were supposed to draw of themselves and bring the first day. We also forgot a 5x7 picture of them and I forgot to bring a check to pay for the month! I was feeling horrible because I knew Cameron would have loved to draw a picture of himself. I had a lot on my mind with it being Mackenzie's birthday that very day and I have been working on her cake and party plans for the past few days....and her party was that night. So I walk to the car with my friends and realize that I had left Mackenzie in the school playing at the table....lol I think I earned the mother of the week award that day! At least I remembered I had left her before I had gotten all the way home!
A few funny things Cameron has said that I never want to forget:
"mom you are one in a million" "mom you are amazing" "mom you are beautiful"
Cam: "I chose you to be my mom up in heaven, I would never want to choose anyone else. But why don't more people choose you guys?" Me: "what do you mean?" Cam: "Like more brothers and sisters" Me: "you want more brothers or sisters?" Cam: "yes, then I can play"
Cameron was looking at a painting/picture we have of Jesus in our house and said "mom when did you take this picture of Jesus? How did you get a picture of him?"
Paw Paw Herb (Jeremy's grandpa) died and we had just talked to him about it and told him that Paw Paw's spirit went to live with Jesus and we were going to bury his body in the ground because he died etc. Later that day Paw Paw Garry (Jeremy's dad) called and when he got off the phone Cameron said "dad who were you taking to?" Jeremy: "Paw Paw" Cam: "How could he call, he is dead?"
Telling Cameron we were going to the funeral home to see Paw Paw the day of his funeral Cameron says "will Jesus be there?" Me: "No" Cam: "you said Paw Paw went to live with Jesus though." then when we were at the viewing I was holding Mackenzie and she says "Paw Paw is sleeping....shhh. Then she says cockadoodledoo!! Wake up Paw Paw"
At the store the other day I told the kids it was time to go and Cameron ran to the shopping cart, Mackenzie ran and hid behind some toys. I told her several times it was time to go. when she wasn't listening I said, "ok bye Kenzie we are leaving" and started to walk away. It didn't phase her, but Cameron got concerned and said, "but mom we can't leave Mackenzie here, she is part of our family! I am going to go back and get her, but don't leave me."
I overheard Cameron in his room playing with Tyson and explaining about death to him saying, "when you die you go in the ground and your spirit goes to live with Heavenly Father in heaven."
I took Cameron to a Dr. appointment the other day with a different Dr because his wasn't working that day, he had a major ear and eye infection so we needed to get in. We had never seen this doctor before, but Cameron wasn't shy. The Dr. asked me what the symptoms were and what was going on.....before I could talk Cameron said, "well, I have a dirty eye and I can't hear as well in this ear, like there is something stuck in it. My throat hurts when I yawn too." He kept acting so mature and showing the Dr. where things hurt and was asking questions about giving him medicine to help him get better etc. The Dr. said to me, "you sure have a cute, precarious boy here....very beyond his years."
I know there are a million other things I have forgotten to write down. He cracks me up because he is always thinking and saying things beyond his years.
