This is how we roll

Mackenzie said to me one day that she wanted to go bowling...I think there was a Curious George episode about bowling one day?!

so, we went bowling last week!  It was hilarious watching Kenzie roll the ball and wait and wait and wait until it made it to the pins :)

Cameron got a strike.  He was so competitive and kept asking after every ball he or I would roll, "what's the score, am I beating you?"

seriously!?  Cutest little bowling shoes ever!!

She was proud of how strong she was.

 Another celebration.....

But in the end mommy won!!  And I rubbed it in Cameron's face :)  not really but I wanted to...HA!

I scream, you scream....

we all scream for Ice cream!!  Nothing like making home made ice cream.  The kids thought it was fun.  It took a lot longer than I remembered it taking.  Maybe that's because it was 90 degrees outside and the ice kept melting so I had to keep adding ice, but then ran out of ice from our fridge?!  I have some great memories of making ice cream as a kid with my family.  Soooo delish!

Soccer camp

Cameron went to a soccer "skills" camp put on by Real Soccer team.  He went every day for 3 hours.  We signed him up for the 5 year old team that was supposed to be 1.5 hours a day, but apparently only one other 5 year old was signed up...so they offered us to have Cameron just join the 6 and older summer camp that was longer.  He was the youngest and littlest kid!  But he played his heart out and had fun.  He got stepped on almost every day and had some nasty bruises.  It was hard for me to see him play with 8 year olds and get "left out" but he was so cute.  I love him and his positive attitude!  This was the last day, he was excited to get a shirt, bag, and water bottle.

This was the picture of the 6 year olds...his little group :)

Rain, rain, go away....

Cameron has been asking to get a snow cone from the snow shack every time we drive past. So after dinner tonight we figured it would be the only night we could go (same issue as always...Jeremy is a work or has church meetings).  So we finished dinner and drove over to get a snow cone.  Got out of the car and started to order when a flash storm hit.  And I mean totally out of no where and hit hard!  Hail stones and major rain.  I told the guy "never mind we will come back another day" and we ran to the car.  Cameron felt sad and didn't like my alternative suggestion to go get an ice-cream cone somewhere at a drive through.  So We drove the car up closer and Jeremy jumped out and ran to order.  Then he came back to the car and we waited until they delivered them to us.

We were soaking wet just from running to the car.  The kids thought it was funny.

We made it safely home and enjoyed the snow-cones.   The best part about going there during a storm is how fast we got our order....we were the only ones there!  If you drive by there at any time of the day there are at least 20 people waiting.  And when we have gone before it has taken 30 minutes to get our order.  So it was actually pretty awesome :)  Plus I love a good rain storm!!

Happy birthday Utah

July 24th is not only Utah's birthday, but Karl Malone's as well...it's a great day!

We went to the annual neighborhood breakfast/party.  Cameron and Kenzie were excited to decorate their bikes for the bike parade.

Kenzie, Jayden, and Cameron getting ready to take off...

Cameron was so excited to see his primary teacher in the parade, even if she was cheating :)

After stuffing our bellies with a delicious breakfast, the kids went fishing and rode on the automatic swing that went in circles.  Mackenzie rode 100 times and didn't want to get off....ever!  I finally had to tell her we needed to leave so we could go to seven peaks and do the water slides.  That was a little motivation.

they had a bounce house and rope swings, horses to pet (except I got bit by one, he had my whole arm in his mouth!), and gold fish pond the kids could catch gold fish.  It was a party for sure.  Great way to celebrate a special holiday.  Then we went to seven peaks for some fun in the sun and water.  Later we did fire works and went to bed super late!

Amazing Aquarium

Another awesome attraction we have passes to and frequent often is the aquarium.  The best part is the brand apankin' new one opened right by our house!  It is fantastic and we love going there.  The kids love to walk across this rope walk in the jungle safari.

The penguins are my favorite!  I love this picture, this penguin dive bombed right up to the glass and made a sharp turn just before hitting it.

I think we laughed out loud, really loud and hard, for at least 10 minutes at this penguin.  Cameron thought it didn't have a head and it was so funny to see his reaction it made me laugh and then we couldn't stop.  Apparently his head was hanging clear over to the other side of his body?

my friend sent this picture a few days before we went and I was amazed!  We tried to find the pregnant sea horse but HE must have been hiding.  Yes I said HE, sea horses are the only species where the male is the "lucky" one to be pregnant.  Just a little bit of trivia for you :)

Zooriffic

This was our first time at the zoo since they opened the new African Savannah safari section.  It was super cool.  The kids were excited the train was back in business....and it didn't hurt that the friends we went with had unlimited train rides and carousel rides!

All the animals were out and we got some great pictures up close and personal.  This is the first time Hogle Zoo has had Lions too, so it was awesome they were awake and so close!

LOVE this picture of Cameron giving the giant Ape a kiss!

with unlimited carousel rides I think they each rode every animal once...lol

Cameron had my phone during one of the train rides and he took several "selfies" it was quite hilarious.  I guess he got tired of taking pictures of the animals the 10th ride :)
