Yay for Nursery!

I have been taking Cameron into Nursery for the past several months even though he hasn't been old enough. I stay in there with him and he gets to have snacks and play. He couldn't wait to go there every Sunday. He doesn't turn 18 months for another week, so technically he shouldn't be in there by himself. But they let me leave him in there today. I was excited for the "freedom" to be able to go to my class and actually listen and participate instead of chase Cameron around and keep him occupied, quiet, and off all the chairs. However, I was a little sad and nervous too! What if he cried? What if a kid took a toy from him? What if he needed something and the leaders weren't paying attention? The list goes on and on... I knew I shouldn't really worry though. They would come get me if he was crying. And knowing Cameron he would be fine, have fun, and play.

(off the subject, but notice the little hole in his cast by his heel...yes he has worn a hole in his cast just by running around ALL day long)

And that is exactly what happened! He was so excited to show me his picture they gave the kids of the Prophet President Monson. He also colored a picture of things to do to follow the prophet. He loves singing time and can't wait to get his hand stamped after they sing. Cameron is so cute sitting in the tiny chairs at the table eating his snacks. I have to admit that I did leave class 4 or 5 times to peek in the class window just to check on him. I know "such a first time mom move". Let's hope the rest of the Sunday's from here on out are just as good! I might start enjoying Sunday's again :)

Two cute boys

Why is it kids are always so cute when they are asleep?? I love sneaking in his room at night just to see him sleeping.

However, this time he wasn't in his room sleeping....he was snoozin' on the couch with daddy! The only thing that could have been better about this picture is if I was taking a nap with my two cute boys!

Look at me...

So it didn't take long for Cameron to get back to normal. He is walking (run walking) all over the place. The cast really doesn't stop him from doing anything. He still climbs, walks, goes up and down stairs, has a good attitude, laughs etc. He is just a little off balance sometimes :) Cameron is such a fun kid! My mom's cousin sent Cameron a get well gift of some foam blocks that he can do all kinds of things with. He loved them and kept saying "bocks, bocks!" then of course, as most kids do, they enjoy the packaging just as much as the actual toy. He kept putting the bag on his head and would walk around with it. He would play with other toys and just thought it was normal to have it on his head. Cameron you make me laugh!

Trick-or-Treat

Jeremy scheduled his trip to India to make sure he would be back in time to take Cameron Trick-or-Treating. He wasn't expecting to get the flu and not feel very good when he came home though! We figured since Jeremy was sick and it was raining that we wouldn't worry about taking Cameron out. Besides we didn't think he even would know what was going on.
We were wrong....after the first set of Trick-or-Treaters came to our house he figured it out. We gave them candy so he wanted some....basically one for them and one for me! He got the idea :) So we put on his little costume and Jer took him to a few houses and then I took him to a few more. Cameron was eating a piece of candy in this picture with Jeremy holding him, it was right after we just gave some candy to the kids.

I didn't even have a cute bag fo him, but he didn't care...he clung on so tight to this bag! He knew it held all the treats. He didn't even want to let me hold it for himl.

When we got home I wanted to get a few pictures, but all he wanted to do was check out his loot. I can't wait for next year. He will have a blast. Plus he won't have his cast on so he will be able to walk to the houses!!

blessings....

The headlines and breaking news stories Sunday night were of an "Accident in Bluffdale, Leaves two dead....and one in Critical Condition." My sister Margo was the one in critical condition. Her, her husband, and their 3 kids were heading home on Redwood Road when a car driving Erratically finally lost control and crossed the median hitting them head on. Luckily Rick and the kids were fine...their big SUV saved their lives the paramedics and dr.s said.

Nobody, not even the Doctors (especially the Doctors), can't understand why she isn't a quadriplegic. They said they have NEVER seen a patient that broke her neck, like she did, and not be paralyzed instantally. They did surgery to stretch her neck and spine by attaching a halo to her head and pulling it up while they pulled her arms down. This was to help the discs go back into place. There was a possibility that when they did this proceedure the discs would sever the spine trying to go back where they were. Luckily the proceedure went great! The next surgery they took bone from her hip and went through the front of her neck to place it around the spine in hopes it will attach, they put cages around her discs and fused her spine. She will have to wear this brace for 3 months. Again, nobody can explain how she basically "walked" away from this accident other than it was a miricle! A couple with a 5th wheel pulled over when they saw the accidet happe and offered to let the kids get in and watch a movie to get them out of the cold and to avoid them hearing the news stations there and all the chaos. Cute Lindsie got her brother and sister and the couple that just pulled over to help (didn't know who they were) to kneel in prayer, "for my mom because I am worried about her and I want to bless her that she will be okay." What a cute kid!

My mom, sister Michele, Cameron and I went to visit Margo today. I took a picture of the 2 invalids :) This is how good she looked after all that! It's sad that it takes accidents, illness, death and loss to realize how important life is. It is easy to get caught up in the world and feel sorry for ourselves and how hard our lives are etc. But just thinking that my sister and her family could have been killed in that accident is scary. We NEVER know what is coming at us each day. Someone can be taken from us in an instant. I love my family! I am thankful for my blessings....which I have MANY!

Cast

Cameron got his fiberglass cast on on Monday. He was so happy at first because the lady took off his other cast and he thought he was free, but then she started to put the other one and she wasn't his friend anymore :)
At least this cast goes below his knee. So he can bend his knee and it will feel much better for him. He can crawl around, but he still feels confined and cries when I leave the room....I can't even go to the bathroom! It has been a LONG 10 days, and feels like I have a new born again since he wakes up crying several (up to 6) times a night and then has been waking up at 5:30 most mornings. Then he doesn't nap in the day....wouldn't the Lortab help with that?? Anyway, I am surviving and am actually getting used to this even though every day/night feels like groundhogs day :)

They said in a week or so he should be able to walk on it, but I have to put this shoe on it when he walks.

He was so good to lay there and let them put it on him.

Yah he got to take a bath. He loves his baths and missed taking them. Just a little video of him in the bath. I thought it looked funny for him to be naked and then have this big black thing on his leg. He likes to blow bubbles in the water while he is on his stomache. Also, listen close because he says "bath"...it is so cute how he says it! We go back to Primary Children's in 4 weeks to get more xrays and hopefully take it off for good!

Resilient

So Tuesday when Cameron woke up he couldn't figure out what was on his leg and kept hitting it and trying to get it off! I felt so bad for him. I had some people tell me "oh maybe this will help to calm him down and he will have to learn to sit still...." Yeah right! It only took one day and now he scoots all around and pulls himself up to things so he can stand. He isn't supposed to put any weight on it though and I can tell it hurts him when he tries...so he just sits back down. Even though he gets frustrated and his leg hurts him, he isn't ornrey or whiney. He tries to be happy and still finds lots of things to laugh at. I figured he wouldn't let a silly little broken leg slow him down :) I guess we will just be replacing all of his shorts after he wears the butt out.
