Kindermusik

I put Cameron in a little Kindermusik class. We go on Mondays for 45 minutes and it isn't long enough! I thought it would be a good idea to have something special for Cameron and mommy to do together. I tell him it's "our time" we get to go to music class and Mackenzie gets to go to grammy's house. He absolutely loves the class.

Here he is with his cute teacher Mrs. Anna. She just happens to be friends with my sister and I so it is even more fun for me to go to class!

Music and dancing must makes Cameron HAPPY! He loves to get the egg shaker, noise maker things...

Here he is dancing his little heart out

Some of the moms and kids in the class. The kids were supposed to go get 2 balls or 2 music maker things like the one Cameron is holding. Then we played with them making certain beats with the music and seeing how many different ways we could play them. The balls had beads in them that made noise. They gave us 2 CD's with the music and songs that we sing in class, to take home and listen to during the week. Cameron wants to "listen to my music" several times every day. So we turn on his music and find instruments (usually from the kitchen...what better than wooden spoons and such) He sings from the top of his lungs and we dance around like nobody is watching!

6 weeks old already

Yup Mackenzie is 6 weeks old today! I took a few pictures while her and daddy got to take a Sunday afternoon nap.

One of my favorite things to do is watch her when she is sleeping!! She smiles a lot when she is first falling asleep and then will smile randomly while she is snoozing. It is soooo cute and sometimes she will smile so big with her mouth open it's like she is trying to laugh. I love this picture I captured of her smiling. Makes me wonder what she is dreaming about. You can also get her to smile when she is awake, I don't remember Cameron smiling this early....

Daddy and Kenzie snoozin on the couch

Don't they look so comfortable and completely out cold?

She is in such a deep sleep she is drooling...she gets that from her daddy! She is also grinning like she knows it's funny :) Now that she is 6 weeks old she is awake more during the day, but still only sleeps a few hours at a time. She seems to have some gas problems (also gets that from her dad...ha ha) because she fusses a lot when she eats. It's almost like she is in pain sometimes. Other than that things are going great. She loves her baths and is so calm in the water, just laying there looking all around. Mackenzie isn't as strong as her brother was, but she is pretty strong. She can hold her head up on her own for a pretty long time. She can sit up and balance with a little help. Good thing she is strong because she has a wild brother she is going to have to live with. She has already taken a few hits, kicks, and elbows from her brother and I am sure there are plenty more to come.

Bday lunch

Both my sisters birthdays are in October so this year we celebrated by having lunch in Gardner Village at Archibalds. Then we walked around checking out the festive decorations. Cameron had fun looking for the witches!
He laughed when he saw this one crashed on the side of the building...

He wanted to join the witches playing baseball

here they are concocting a potion and Cameron wanted to get a closer look....as he leaned on the gate it tipped over. Notice i the picture it is leaning? Another kid was standing on it too and as I was taking the picture I saw it falling. Good thing I have cat like reflexes and grabbed it before Cameron went crashing into the potion and turned into a frog.

This was my favorite witch. She was up in the air riding her bike and the pedals and tires were really moving.

Grammy and Cam sitting on some way cute pumpkins

Shhhh....

Baby sleeping...not for long though, mommy set her down to hurry to the bathroom. The clock starts ticking once you set her down. She hates to be alone when she is sleeping.

Rocks ROCK!

Have I mentioned how much Cameron loves rocks. Yes he is a boy and most boys collect rocks I have heard. BUT do most boys collect rocks EVERYWHERE they go?!? I am serious about the EVERYWHERE. And he can tell me where each one came from...it's crazy that he remembers. I have started to plan some extra time when I run errands because we always have to gather a few arriving gifts and parting gifts (rocks) at each and every stop. He points out rocks as we are driving and tells me if they will make a "big plop" or a "tiny plop" in grammy and grampy's ditch. The other day we were at Janessa's soccer game and he picked up a rock. He was walking around talking about his rock and a lady said something to him about his and he told her, "yes it's a big rock and it will make a big plop in grammy's ditch." The lady wasn't sure what he was talking about and just said "oh". That made Cameron mad and so he yelled it louder and slower....I intervened and interpreted to her what he had said just so Cameron would stop yelling at her :)

So proud of this big rock!

We put his rocks in bags and save them until we go to grammy and grampy's house. One day I went outside and he had dumped out one of the bags to admire his collection I guess?! Then I started helping him clean them up as he told me about most of them,

We try to keep the rocks outside, but I have found them in: my shower, my shoes, his pockets=washing machine, the couch, his bed, dresser etc. I just hope this rock fetish stays innocent and he doesn't turn into a disorder....I have a little PTSD from a client I was working with. He walked in with a big, odd shaped rock and told me it was a petrified skull of some rare animal or alien or something. He refused to set it down because someone might steal it, people were after him to get these special petrified artifacts....his delusions didn't end there, but when I challenged him that it just looked like a rock to me I began to fear for my life. I told him I was going to give him a referral for a "more appropriate" treatment facility and he said he was going to go put the skulls in his car where it was more comfortable. We both knew he wasn't coming back :) So, until Cameron starts believing these are more than just rocks I won't be too concerned....

Friends

Tyson is one of Cameron's cute friends. He loves to play with him because they are so much alike. They have a lot of fun together...sometimes too much fun! The nursery leaders tell me that Cameron and Tyson run and bump chests together and fall down laughing. They are pretty much wild boys together, but are so cute!

Cameron went to play at Tyson's house a few weeks ago and his mom took these cute pictures. She just sent them to me so I thought I would post them. She is a photographer so they turned out extra good :)

Time flies

Raise your hand if you one month old.

I am growing up so fast. My mom can't believe how I am changing and growing every day. She says I remind her a lot of Cameron when he was a baby because I love to be held. I fall asleep in her arms and will be completely zonked, but the second she lays me down I am wide awake and cry to get her attention. I pretty much like to be held all day. I do like the car seat more than my brother did, I usually sleep when we go somewhere but if I can't sleep I get frustrated and then I do cry bloody murder. I don't really like to eat, I only eat about 1 or 1 1/2 oz. every 3 hours. I mostly like to snack...so I eat 1/2 oz here and 1/2 there. I am great at burping and my mom is extremely grateful that I don't have acid reflux like Cameron did. She really didn't want to get thrown up on every time she fed me. I get a lot of attention from my big brother Cameron. He likes to tell me things via my mommy. He says "mommy talk to Kenzie about big brother" so then my mom will say things like "your big brother Cameron is such a good helper, he loves to help mommy" and "your big brother listens so well, he likes to mind mommy" or "your big brother is reading a book right now, he is so smart and loves to read". Cameron will tell my mommy what to tell me sometimes, he will say "no, tell Kenzie your big brother is jumping on my bed." or something that he is doing. He is a funny kid and tries to make me laugh. If I am crying he tells mommy to "get her her blinkie (binki)" or if he can find one he just shoves it in my face. Sometimes I think he is jealous of me because he has started to throw some tantrums and he doesn't takes naps anymore. But mommy says she is glad things aren't worse and he is such a good kid. I still sleep a lot during the day, but am awake about 1 or 2 hours in the morning and then again for 1 or 2 hours after dinner. I sleep at night pretty well, I wake up about every 3 hours to eat (which really means I wake up and just want something to suck on so I can fall back asleep because again, food isn't really my thing).

My big brother likes to help mommy give me baths. He likes to use the washcloth to wash my feet and tummy. He takes it pretty serious and is careful. I really like my baths too. I never cry and sometimes I even fall asleep when they give me a bath. It calms me down and relaxes me before I go to bed. Mommy says Cameron used to cry a lot during his baths as a baby and he would move all around, but I just lay there like I am at a day spa getting pampered. Life is good.
