Our Engagement September 2006

My family does an annual trip to my Uncle Bills cabin, but this year it snowed early and where his cabin is located you need snowmobiles to get up to the cabin if there is too much snow. My parents decided it wasn't worth the hassle so they rented a nice house/condo in Park City for the weekend. We played games, watched movies, ate good food, and the kids loved the hot tub.

The family get together wasn't all that was planned. Jeremy had a little surprise up his sleve and let Barry in on it. He had Barry pick up my ring from J Brooks Jewelers (which the owner called me a week before and told me the ring would take longer than planned and was several weeks out...sneaky, sneaky Jeremy). Saturday afternoon Jeremy asked me if I wanted to go on a walk. I looked outside and saw it was starting to snow so I said "why don't we go later, it's snowing and cold". He pushed the issue and so we ended up going on a walk around the neighborhood condos. Halfway through the walk we stopped on the corner of Oslow and Bobsled and he got on one knee and purposed to me! I shivered out a YES and we went back to tell my family, but of course they already knew what was going on!

This is the picture we used in our announcements.

This is the picture my sister Michele doctored up for us with her photo shop and wanted us to use for our announcements.

Look closer, I am not flipping the bird (for once) I am just showing off my bling bling!

  1. How in the world did you remember the Names on the corner where Jeremy ask you to marry him? OSLOW & BOBSLED. Pretty good memory. You make me laugh. That was such a fun time for all of us. Thanks for the memories.

  3. That was a great weekend at the cabin. I'm not known for being creative but I can surprise pretty well. Even thought it wasn't the most romantic or extravagant proposal, I guess the important part is that she said YES. We had a really fun time playing catch phrase.
